Assisting is a way of getting HG points, SP and XP and even a hunter art without waiting for your own turn at a hunt.
Normally a person get a hunt once per hour; assisting means you can get it every 10-15 minutes or so, that's why the HG is capped at 0.1 or else you could raise your HG way too fast.
And, as Pantheon pointed out, the person asking for assistance is already splitting half of his exp and sp, his only compensation is the gold. If him asking for assistance allows you to benefit more than you already do, he should get compensation. |

How about we are all benefitted by the assist?
Whenever one asks for help, she/he could get more points in HG and the assistant as well. With this tactic, all will ask for help and we all increase our HG fast.
