In the mythology, there was only one, and it fed on the roots of the world tree: Yggdrasil. It was greatly feared and i think served a purpose in Ragnarok.
"Nidhogg rises at Ragnarok, bringing up the corpses of the dead to join battle. The dragon however survives to continue its existence in the new order that follows. Sources have suggested that Nidhogg's continued presence in the new world is to provide an evil balance to the new good." |

Viking Story:
Vikings are the brutal barbarians to the far north. They survive extreme (-ly cold) temperatures, making them very durable and able to take hardships like noting, but they are not arrogant. It is in their very religion to fight every day vigorously, a weak Norseman is an extremely rare commodity. They believe that if they fight heroically and nobly, that they will go to a place of paradise after death, so they try their best to fight fairly and honorably, making them very morally zealous warriors. They have no arch enemies in the empire, and were a relatively unheard of race, mainly because the trek through the tundra is so treacherous. |

An extremely immense sea serpent, nicknamed the world snake. Its arch enemy is Thor, ironically, who has fished it up and even lifted it. It is so huge that it could swallow a battleship whole.
