Hi all,
Looking at the hunter and thief sets bonus link, I see this -
Great Hunter set
----------------
Set bonus (9 items):
+40% damage to neutral creatures,
+5% initiative,
+1 to minimum and maximum damage of all lord's stacks.
Thief set
---------
Set bonus (9 items):
+1 speed to all lord's stacks,
+10% initiative to the character.
Now comparing the set bonus and the market price for both sets, wouldn't the Great Hunter set gives better overall bonus and be more value-for-money, generally speaking? | Oh, and does the Thief set gives any bonus % damage to neutral creatures?

no.
vut thief set gives gives stuff that is more effective in all kind of battels than GH set+more durability | about the price - the TG set lasts alot longer and gives alot more stats then the GH set. also, since it lasts longer, it is probalbly the best set of arts to enchant

Really? Hmm.. you would be giving up a lot of attack, defense, +% to melee attacks etc, though, for +1 Speed (which in most PvP situations, would be kidda useless) and some initiative.
Think of Power Rings, Mithril Longsword, Tower Shield, Longbow etc.. | for Jedi-Knight:
Have you seen the stats the thief arts themselves give? About +20% initiative, I believe.
I think that's the reason why people use it. The set bonus just sweetens the deal | Thief set is most effective at short distance and in duels at the most. In multi-pvp, it's waste of arts since you will reach your opponent much before your team and all the opponents will be on you. So, if you prefer to die first, good luck!, you won't need it to reach that aim.
On the other hand, thief dagger is the best choice for the third art enchanted for extra-damage. | for Jedi-Knight:
