I understand this but am sure I am not alone in feeling that these cheats break the system more than this would?
You could use peoples first combat as warid so that these fines would be obvious as to what they are?
This is also why I suggested that only the very obvious and blatant cheats are fined. They are usually easy to spot.
I am aware this may cause problems but taking no action is worse!
Maybe if the majority of cheats are cleaned up admins will return to deal with the smaller number of cases which need further investigation or IP address checking etc?
If nothing else it will hopefully make admins look at our server and discourage people from cheating? |

It's an interesting idea, but the support of the community, as you name it, is pointless (and even now, we are far from 99% support, as you claim.)
First, there are only two players on this server able to fine people, Zyanya and I, the two Keepers of #373.
Second, the consequences we may face are obvious: a (well-deserved) character block for abusing our mandate.
I can't tell for Zyanya, but I'm not sure it's worth putting at risk all the months I spent creating this character, to say the least.
Would you put your character at stake in a similar situation? |
I would put my character at risk without hesitation.
Yes I have spent a lot of time and effort building it up. Have been very careful to play within the rules at all times and spend a lot of time on this game.
but . . . the cheats are spoiling it for all and if it takes me being blocked to help solve this problem then I would willingly accept this. |

I thought most first infractions were also fined by the admins...not out-right blocked...plus, if the community were to support your actions, I am sure the admins would have to reverse it--or else there would be a huge exodus from this game.

Well cheaters roams free....i understand the mod's point of wiew, also because they cannot play in the same server they're banning people. In every online game i've done it was that way.
So let's cheaters roam, obviously i'll never buy a diamond until the law is back.
Good game to all, after all, also without an event, a tournament, without a law, without some improvement, etc etc....it is still a fantastic game ^^ |

Hmm, what? There is only one English server and we play here as well as moderate. What you're referring to is done when there are multiple servers for a language, commonly found in many real time online games where the server always have a certain time duration after which it's restarted. |
No i'm also referring to single server games. The point is that you cannot have powers to ban someone in the same server you're playing because this can generate many discussion, about power abuse. I Think you and kotrin will never abuse of your power, but, you know, people think always the worst thing possible ^^
That's IMHO why admins (that is a non playing superior power), didn't give you this powers |

I think you're referring to 'block' and not 'ban' right? If so, then you're still wrong in a sense. Arctic plays on the server (though as assistant to admins) as well as has the ability to block players. |

I wouldnt say "we may face" but "we will face". I am not very sure if I would support having a mod with block button on the server(ok, probably I would, but there are few more thousands of players that might think otherwise).
Anyway there is a great difference between ability and mandate. The Keepers already have the power to write anything to the description and impose penalties. But without direct admins approval it would be highly uncivilised to handle problems outside their legal teritories. It would be like a policemen rounding criminals and shooting them on streets. They might have the power, they might "know" they did it. They might have even seen them doing the crime but anyway it would be weird, wouldnt it? |
| It would. Without a total emergency situation like this one (there're plenty of cheaters, even high level) this idea would be a crazy idea. But, as you see in the "poll" answers, many players would vote yes to it. This is (i immagine) because people are really tired of those cheaters. And i think this is also lethal for donations...and consequently for the life of the server |
| Sure community needs change, but this is just not the right way. It would cause more damage than positive effects and Zyanya and Kotrin know that. Not talking about their integrity, reputation, feelings, etc. |

They will come back. They are already here. This smart*lowerback* and his multis were blocked 2 weeks ago.

Just someone(probably Skunder) would have to appeal on them to create a second Keepers clan for financial assistance.(Good thing would be to import some keepers from .ru, but its up to them, not us to decide this) |

-Mods cannot comunicate with admins
So how is it possible that they got a cheater over a thousand and block him ? Looks like a miracle |
