There are no limits if you win an ambush, you'll just have to wait to gain full life.
Though if you lose an ambush you'll have a 1-hour penalty. |

You were just unlucky and waited so long. If you have a 1-hour penalty for loosing, you can't even set an ambush.
As for the error windows they appeared to me, so I guess it was a server lag. |
