I had been told in the past that you recieve an element about 20% of the time after completing a merc quest.
I have not recieved an element in the last 9 completed quest. Do you have to be at a reputation of ten to recieve an element? If you fail a merc quest does that lower your chances of recieving an element on your next completed quest? Does declining a quest reduce your chances?

Mercernarys level 5 gives a chance to loot 2 elements.
If the total percentage is 20% or 24% or 40%.... opinions are divided,
but most logical:
20% to get 1 element
(1/5)^2 = 4% to get 2 elements
100-20-4= 76% to get 0 elements |

Should be 16% to get 1 element, 4% to get 2, and 80% to get none. But the second roll might not even be 20%. |

| sometimes u may get 3 elements per 5 mqs, sometimes 0 elements per 20 mqs, its random and i had bad series like 30 wuests without elements, it was awfull |
| Look at my profile page. I have been tracking MG element rewards for quite some time. My longest string without a reward was 41 quests. My reward rate is currently at 17.94%. It has been as low as 16.5% and as high as about 19.5%. This is based on 400+ quests and I update it after every quest. |
to Slynky: good idea on keep in track of % of elements recieved. I hope you dont care, because im going to do the same thing.
Since my post of this at 12:51 I have completed 6 more merc quest, which brings the total to 15 with no element recieved... |
20 % means you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting an element.
get five different numbered playing cards numbered 2 3 4 5 and 6
now shuffle them and keep drawing until you pull a 3. it is possible and not hard to have 9 trys in a row with out getting it. on the flip side, you could get the 3 a few times in a row. its all chance anything can happen. |
| Wanna see how I keep track of elements? lol. I can tell you exactly how many elements of each type I've gotten, since quest 350. |
