I'm not so sure about that. I got 9/9 at the riddle and I've got 4 trinkets at 8 battles. |

I'm guessing that the rate of getting trinkets is 5 + 5*(number of correct answers), in percent. Thus, if you get them all wrong, it would be 5%, and if you get them all right, it would be 50%.
I answered 8 correctly, and my rate has been just slightly under 50%. |

| i dunno, i had 7/9 answers and sometimes trinkets didn't show for like 7-8 battles in a row - and in the last run i needed 1 single star to finish the final riddle and it came after 12 different other items, which totalled over 50 battles) |
