How well does demon do in TG at level 12? And what about in general?
I did not ambush as demon before the changes since i just changed to it - so I cannot comment on the relevant difficulty before and after.

However new arena seems in general more interesting.

I will be talking mostly about low ap ambushing ( I use SoM / Def. Shield / Steel Cuirass + Helmet / Amulet of Luck ) - with full arts things change quite a bit cause of higher firepower and defense.

The biggest problem demon faces vs certain faction caravans is that you cannot have a universal good setup against them. For example take caravan of elves: Demon may place cerberi/horses in the middle to go hit druids/bowmen and get instead a caravan full of sprites. Or you may place stuff in the corner to gate etc out of reach at start - and find a caravan full of druids/bowmen. Similar problems occur against other factions to a lesser extent than elves maybe but still being an obvious problem.

With my current experience so far I place stuff in the middle for wizard/barbarian/knight and demon caravans and on the corners for the elf/necro/DE ones. Knight and Demon caravans i didn't score a win yet ( caravans still rather hard from DE ambushing era ) with the rest i got recently some degree of success ( mostly against DE/wizard and to a lesser extent barbarian )
Hey, I want to ask your opinions...

Until now when ambushing, i always use full equipment. I dont always win, but the win rate is still more than 70% i guess..

Do you think i should change to low AP ambushing? how often should I do that n what are the benefits? I'm lvl 10 Demon btw.. thx in advance ^^
for dedengkot:
That depends on much gold you have and are willing to spend.

With over 70% win rate I think you are doing pretty well. Also I think level 10 demons do TG pretty good too. I didn't stop using full gear till I reached TG5. Since by then I was losing a lot even with heavily enchanted weapons.
I see.. thanks Pantheon, I guess i'll stick with my high AP until the caravan became unbearably hard ;p
How well does demon do in TG at level 12

After the update i did a lot of ambush as a demon, and it is more easy now with big arena.
Hi,

I'm demon level 8 and thief level 1. Until now I have done all my ambushes with just minimal ap. But since I became level 8 I noticed that ambushes got harder (maybe I just need to find a better strategy). What do you think would be most advisable? Using more ap, to be "certain" of a win, or just keep using minimal ap and losing the difficult ones, so they get easier? I don't want to get into a situation where I need to start losing a lot of times to make them easier, so I'd rather lose half of them now if that can keep them on an "easy" level.

Since I can only get a TGI at level 5, I don't think there is a need to speed things up. Or should I get some more defense (but not using a full set)?
on lvl 8, thieving with full art for demon is quite easy. even if you beat all of the caravans for lvl8 (making the difficulty increase) u can still win them ;p so no need to loose on purpose and make them easier in my opinion..
CMIIW, but the caravan difficulties always reset when u leveld up, right?
for dedengkot:
When you level up, the caravan difficulty goes up by 20%.
Yes, so I fear that if I would make the caravans very difficult (winning them all in full ap until that's not even possible anymore) I might get in an impossible situation at higher levels. So that's why I thought doing it with min ap (or at least not with full set) would keep them rather easy when I level.
to pantheon:
Thx for the info ^^ Btw, the 20% here is from the basic difficulty or from the increased difficulty of that caravan? because i always think it was the first one =.=

what I mean with basic difficulty is the difficulty of that specific caravan when the player never beat it and never lost to it; while the increased difficulty is the difficulty when the player is already beat that same caravan over and over again.. err, I hope you understand what I meant ;p
Should be from the increased difficulty (or decreased in some cases). Though it doesn't really matter since all the difficulty increases and decreases are %-based.
I have changed faction from elf to demon at level 9 and built everything except upgraded constructions. So can anyone tell me which units to use for mercs, hunts, ambushes (I am no thief)?

Options are imps, demons and wolfhounds

Thank You
Don't you have hell horses and succubi also then? I'd say get as much wolfhounds as possible. But I'm level 8 and I'm really enjoying my incendaries ;).

Anyway, imps and demons aren't worth very much. So, if you can't afford to upgrade them, try to get as less as possible of them (some imps are good to take retal). Wolves will be targetted first though (especially if you don't have succubi).
I just checked your profile and in your case I'd try to get spawns asap. This upgrade is not that costly. Then get rid of the demons and put those points in spawns. You can do that now with imps too, but spawns are a lot stronger.
I max out on succubi and hell horses and thanks for the tips
I'd drink a potion of oblivion and put all points in attack though. It will differ a lot, especially since you have basic off and battle fury as talents.
Just a quick qn, does a stack of cerberi have 3 chances of triggering hellfire if it hits 3 stacks? What about for mistress ricochet shot?
for ExDeath:
i think it may just be for the initial hit so like the first guy you hit withh mistresses and the target you choose to hit with the cerbs.

but this is just a thought so dont take this as fact
Just a quick qn, does a stack of cerberi have 3 chances of triggering hellfire if it hits 3 stacks? What about for mistress ricochet shot?

note that this answer includes the thesis of hellfire triggering calculation being exactly calculated as favourite enemy calculation:

i don't think they have 3 chances of it triggering, at least this happens with my efk/sprites. I don't get more favourite enemy/luck when hitting multiple stacks than my druids do with hitting 1 target. So the answer for multiple CHANCES is a definitive no. Second, you can't get 2 times hellfire in 1 attack (i assume that too by comparing with favourite enemy). If FE triggers it ALWAYS does extra damage to only one enemy, there is no 2 FE hits in one spread attack/battle dance. Third, FE can happen to any enemy, not only the one you targeted with your mouse. This is sometimes especially nasty when it happens to elite forest keeper (since all sourrounding enemy units only get half damage and the not-clicked-at-unit that gets hit by favourite enemy gets double damage it results in 2 units getting "normal" damage, the clicked-at-enemy and the enemy hit by FE). So you can't control it.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
