AuthorThieves' Guild -- whats it about ?
Yes i have read "About the game".
what i really want to ask is - is it worth it to join the TG ?
TGI is really expensive after all .
Should i start saving for it ?
Kindly explain pros and cons of joining TG.
My known pros and cons:

Pros:
-Thieves arts
-Initiative boost with every level
-New Thieves Invitation on lvl TG lvl 5
-New fighting experience

Cons:
-Expensive!
-Takes ages to get to TG lvl 5

I forgot countless things, and I will post them when I remember them.
In the short run it is definitely not worth it to join TG. In the long run it's up to you. Thief arts can be bought. Initiative boost can be offset by better arts. Extra experience from TG can be recieved from other combats.

In the extreme long run or high levels you might want to join TG.
1. Initiative boost lasts forever even for many thousands of combats.
2. TG is the only PvE combat that will work in the long run.
3. The extra initiative is an edge for full art battles.
4. It is a part of the game and you have to try all aspects of it. :)
Initiative boost can be offset by better arts.

No. In the tournament (esp. Minor), when you and your opp both have full arts, same guild levels and faction level, same recruitment and learned skills (it is a common thing for lower lvls) - in this 'mirror' fight 2-4% ini from TG will provide you sure win.

You shoot first, you hit first.
You shoot first, you hit first.

The pre-combat positioning of units on the bar happens with a random deviation of 0% to 10%

2%-4% wont make a difference, the random 10% is still larger

3. The extra initiative is an edge for full art battles.

Initiative boost can be offset by better arts. was in general for most battles. I doubt you wear full arts for every single battle. Plus for a new player having to go through the new TG rules, I especially doubt they can afford to use full arts for many battles.
I think it depends on how far you expect to get at the game. If you anticipate playing for a long time the Thief invite will end up being profitable. You will most likely sell the TGI when you get it at level 5, and if you were to sell teh thief arts you would overall have made some good money.

So it is fairly clear cut to get one, so long as you are prepared to put in the time to get to the end. If you don't I would guess probably not worth it, the cost is a long time of enrolling, whcih if you are not going to get it back seems a bit steep.
