as for MY opinion in the topic, i don't think it's dead, i just think it's stunned a bit. but it will wear off.
lvl 15 has been introduced on ru. and i am sure that it will eventually get to this server. if we live that long of course. then, the war with the dwarfs is supposedly coming soon too, (im not 100% sure but i think it already started on ru because there is part of the map on ru marked "enemie's territory") so just wait everyone, be patient and it will eventually pay off ^^ | | Topic moved from "Queries and help" to "General game forum". | | I think we're just a small project run by a certain few volunteers who spend time (much too much in my opinion) stopping cheating and creating rules which channel game play away from the exploitative / pointless / anti-social ) They are right to do it. Seems a great shame they have to do it at all.
Now if this game were like WoW or EvE or WhateverW how many here would play it? If it's a stupid commercial venture and all that goes with that. We play for fun and I for one am glad that we're not making some guy so rich he may live in a castle and drive an Enzo or Veyron. We may have a good time and we are rewarded for real input and achievement more than flash in the pan skill or lightning in a bottle commercial gimmickry.
There is a lasting sense of goodwill with this game and it would be hard to trust anyone with it. If I were the local Boss,) I'd just leave it when I couldn't look after it for time or other reasons, but pay the server bill and hopefully resume development as soon as is practical.
I think we had SO many updates lately... I am thankful for and won't find the game wanting in any way for a long time. Is it possible we might enjoy the game we have rather than take potshots every time the powers that be leave us to ourselves? | If You start something, like game LORDSWM or other, then You want to do it good, and everybody who is creating business, wants to do it the best he can. You cant make it work if You are doing it in less than 50% commitment. You need to do it 100 or even 110%.
Updates should bring more players, and makes happy current. How is this possible that, many rly many players arent happy with long waiting updates? Like cant enroll on phone, tgi price for lower lvls players, enchant change, map change, some rly stupid rules, workoholic and more....we waited long long time since updates comes...and then happy ye suddenly we got something. But I as low lvl player, I was playing till 8 lvl and i was rly happy i could lease TGI, something new begun, it was fun, it was skill, exp and rly much to do ingame, insane, merc hunt ambush group i rly had fun when i was online....now low lvl players are reaching 8lvl and they are thinking, still same battles....and admins made it impossible to have more fun...cmon maybe 10 from 300 will buy tgi for cash, most of them will try to break rules cheat to get tgi, then they will get block so whats the sense?
Why there is a workoholic rule? its rly not needed. And its rly hard for low lvl players too, cause if they are trying to have gold for tgi and not playing they cant.
Cant enroll on phone, this change was rly not needed too.
Like Lannik said, if i work hard for my gold, WHY cant i send it to who i want? when im ending game or anything? Its stupid...You will tell its important cause of cheaters will become more powerfull...its not true!!! there are some players who have power to penalty them, there are complains all the time, and the suspicious one will get block or fine its easy and simple.
They did many updates not important, and without sense, imo they should concentrate on fun, not on rules, they r not politicians [i hope ;p] so concentrate on game and fun not on stupid rules.
They should ask US with ideas, They should read OUR suggestions [some of them are rly great] how to make the game more fun, who know this better than WE PLAYERS!!!
Its not an attack, but i think They should more cooperate with Us, we Players are important for this game, so are Admins, so we need to start fighting for future Together like in group battle | And I want to add one more thing.
I would be happy and i think many players will, If we will get a chance to talk ingame chat or else with Admin or Admins about server and future....not only questions, but suggestions. There will be someone who will translate for sure, here on .COM there are some players who know Russian and English.
On forum we can make some serious questions and suggestions, type some players who will talk with admins, and make 30min talking, confrontation.[no sense to get many players asking, better lets be organised, imo war clan leaders could be good, and ask clan players for Q or Suggestions] and post here on com for everybody Q and A.
It would be good, and it can make some step for better future.

Is there anybody who can organise that? Have contact with Admins? Arctic is needed too, cause he's our dad ;) | I have mentioned in so many posts, for many months...that the admins should get help. There are plenty of folks that enjoy this game enough that would gladly translate, help code, etc. But rumor has it that the admins simply don't trust anyone, with anything...even Arctic has to jump hoops to get things done...so what of 'strangers' that don't personally know the owners of this game lol?
I know this server generates a profit...I see how many Diamonds get sunk into this thing--from my clan alone, too many to keep track of. Factor in the roulette junkies that drop hundreds of diamonds on their addiction...and all the serious PvP players that drop diamonds for upgraded units...and there is no sense not to continue the server from a fiscal point of view.
In any case, the game suffers from KEEPING players motivated and active. Too many leave. Not just because there aren't updates for a year, and then a bunch get rammed down our throats...but because of several other flaws.
Where there is no accountability, there is no growth. Plain and simple.
My only hope is that IF they decide to scrap the .com server because it is 'too much of a hassle' to propery develop it, then I would like to see ALL of our characters moved over to .ru server. If they don't make it a "click here for English or click here for Russian" like MANY other websites feature...then I hope they'll work on that update next hehe. As a businessman I see a lot of opportunity here...it is a good idea...but in the right hands, this could make someone very wealthy.

Hmm.. I don't understand something: Is there anything risky letting someone translate some features? They could simply translate and the translation version could be put into the code by admins. | | its not dead, it's just empty. | Frankly speaking i dont really care whether they give out some updates or not, cuz as far as I know even tho there are no updates, I am not a level 14 to say that there is no further stuff left for me to do.

Now we see the above statement. It is the leading note about the game. Someone getting wealthy was never the goal. How much of the last sentence is true up you. I have seen a lot of changes, and many appear to be player caused, one way or other. And like others say I will only cry when we all get 404'd and then move on,)

I totally agree, but another question, will it give something? i mean we will select some ppl for a "politicians" of .com server, it will be one step ahead but will admins do the same...? | Somehow, even if they were here, I doubt they'd agree to giving away any kind of power (this game seems built around tight control from the ruling administration, so why relinquish that power?). And even if you weren't using it in context, you have to agree, dziadu, that this sentence can be said about the entire game: its not about LVLs, its totally about something else
Which, from my point of view, is kinda sad, since that's where all the fun is. Levelling up, getting new troops, new talents... in one word, rewards. But, like you've put it "it's totally about something else".

No offense to anyone, but there are tons of suggestions in the I&S part of the forum and I don't think I've seen a workawholic rule or a min AP rule anywhere in there or removing halves and thirds from hunts - just a couple of examples. So, as far as that last sentence goes, it sounds more like advertising then actual fact. | I was about to say the same thing Lannik. This game is supposed to be made "for gamers by gamers." Oh really? I just don't see that. The map is set up like an empire. The storyline features a monarch (the Empress) "running the show" advised by a select few. This game is more of a dictatorship than a democracy, which is what they try to advertise. How many of our suggestions get read by people who actually have the power to act upon them? Very few, if any.
Maxim and Alexander are extremely paranoid about letting anyone see the inner workings of the game. That is hurting us. They need to realize that the task of managing two servers is more than they can handle alone. They need to interview and hire people to assist them with developing the game. Otherwise, .ru will get everything and we will get nothing. | PEOPLE!
This is a good game. Many people complained when the server went ~8 months without an update, but guess what? We got all ours at once. They do things slowly on .ru and in larger batches here. It's okay. You made it through the long period, and its only been a month and a half since the last update this time. Let's just be patient. Most of us should be leveling up and stockpiling arts for the dwarf war, and I for one am grateful to have enough time to do so.

if you don'T like it, stop playing or go to .ru ! | I agree with you dziadu. The "grand update" was little more than a list of promises that have not been kept by the admins. I believe in "Don't make any promises you can't keep." Players on .com have donated thousands of euros to this project and have gotten a very poor return on their investment. It's like they laugh at the .com players who donate and just use the money to give .ru regular updates.
The number of people online grows when there is a real event going on. There were ~2000 people online at Christmas and during the last PVP tournament we had. This shows that the players care about the game and respond well to updates. I'm not asking that they give us all the things that they give .ru, just some more attention. For example, give us a date for the beginning of the dwarf war. "When we have time" is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Several people have already lost their patience with this game and have left. If they are angry with the game, they will not tell their friends about it and this game will not grow. Quite the opposite. Unless there is a change of attitude, this game's numbers will gradually shrink as people get tired of empty promises and give their time and money to other things. This international server is a great opportunity for them to gain popularity and make more than enough money to cover the costs of maintaining and updating the server. I hope they realize it before it's too late. |
