Hello,

If I go up to level 2 (Faction) and my troops get a +1 (Put in the hard work to get the bonus) attack then I decide to change factions does that +1 go away?

Yes. The faction level bonus you get is only for that specific faction. It goes away if you switch factions, but you can get it back by switching your faction back.
