AuthorTGI scams recently
Ok I am sorry but if you would trust me I give you my word... I play for fun and there no reason to cheat... =]and Im sorry for the misunderstanding I just want 2 enjoy this game and alot of people have called me a cheater which isnt cool.. but I understand. I never did anything wrong 2 deserve all my gold 2 b lost its hard 2 make as we all know... So I really do appriciate this, but what will happen to Warnra, I dont want her 2 get blocked i just want my gold and for her 2 learn a lesson and not do this 2 anyone else
When/if the admins start looking at the CAA again Warnra may get blocked, fined 1 gold, fined 300k gold, or fined 600k gold.

1 gold: warning
300k gold: because that's the actual amount
600k gold: that's a double fine (as per punishment rules)
block: most likely to happen because scamming is a serious offense.
Well i ever get my gold back?
Unfortunately:
3.17. The Administration does not take responsibility for the unreturned debts and does not guarantee compensation in case of swindling by other players. When a loan is not returned in time, (the time must be written in the transfer logs, no more than a month) the swindler will be imposed a penalty of a sum twice as much. If the term isn't posted in the transfer logs, the penalty will occur 1 month after the loan transaction. The creditor does not get compensation.

Many people think this should be changed (me included), but I understand that the task would be too difficult for admins.
Why is it so difficult? Instead of just punishing the player with a fine, return the gold to the victim.

If I'd give a loan and not have it returned, seeing that player receving a fine of 50000000000000000000 gold and getting blocked wouldn't make me feel any better and I might even quit the game. But having my gold back, would make everyone happy, me, the scammer and the game itself for not losing 2 players.
I've seen users with NEGATIVE gold because of fines. So it's not impossible to return someone's gold even if the there is not enough money to substract.

Imagine what would happen now, if the admins would ban every single person that cheated in a way. Maybe we wouldn't be as half of how many we are now online.
I've sent some gold.
Sorry it's not much, but hope you get back to 300k that you lost.
for DarkSooth:
The problem isn't the lack of gold. Admins can just decide to give every player 1 million gold each.

1. Scamming admins. If the "victim" was in on it, the scammer can be a fake account to be used for playing roulette, training smith/enchanting, "buying" slightly overpriced items from friends (maybe from the victim himself), etc. Victim gets compensated by admins and only the fake scammer account gets blocked/fined.

2. Due a number of situations resulting from my examples above admins need to look even harder to see who's the actual victim if any and also need to trace exactly how the gold got spent. Currently all they need to do is just trace the gold transferred from multi to multi to multi (yes, cheaters have created networks of networks just like the internet).

3. If victims are protected from any risk, then there would be even more victims, which just feeds into problems #1 and #2. If there were no risk, then I would need to open a credit line from Empire and have Her compensate me 100+k every week. And that's only for the loans I'm being asked every week now. With compensation rules I imagine I would need millions every week.
I know it's not easy, but if you act fast, you can fix things quickly before the gold is transfered around.
Hmm .. I am gonna send some money too, and hope u can get back ur lost 300K .. I am sympathize also for the others that have been treated the same

Yep, zure (TS) and John_Bale, anybody wanna help them too?
what is TS by the way ? and what is the rule about max gold I can send to them ?
And just how fast do you think admins should be? If the network of multis are already in place, then within 15minutes the scammer can launder the gold through half a dozen multis and bury it in their transfer logs by buying/selling resources on the market.

And in nobodiez case the admins already created a scam-free way of buying/selling TGIs (arts and elements) with gold/resources. And if the admins also did that with resources, steel, nickel, magic powder, and leather, then everything can be sold safely. After that add in ways to pay with non-gold/resources, then players can safely trade any art/resource/gold/element for anything.

Now I purposely didn't go into the services: smithing and enchanting since those are relatively scam-free.
No more than 30% of your total wealth (gold+resources), wich for you is 5.190 gold at the moment.
for _PrinceOfChaos_:
Max is 30% monthly limit of your total networth (gold + resources). This 30% limit are your combined gifts to everyone in that month.
Previous post was for #31.

Now for #32

Then there should be a warning on the transfer resources page reminding (or, in some cases, instructing players that haven't read the rules) that there is a safer way if their desire is to trade resources/arts/invitations/whatever.

(and a similar message on the page for sending PMs should also remind them that they shouldn't share their password to anyone)
Warning! Never communicate your password and e-mail address to anyone. The Administration will never ask for this kind of data. Do not send letters with "secret codes", do not reply to such letters, and never follow links to external websites, even if you are promised a fortune or a cool character to play. Such letters are sent by "phishers", swindlers whose purpose is to take control of your character.
This already appears in your PM page.

But I still occasionally see players complain about being "hacked", got their passwords "stolen", or someone is asking them for their password.
There are other ways of getting people's passwords. There is the risk that players use similar passwords for all accounts related to their character. So when they sign up to an external forum for, say, a clan, they might use the same login and password, potentially giving the forum owner their character password.

In fact, I have reported an external Clan forum that instructed the clan members to register using their Character Name and LOWM password. IMO an obvious Phishing attempt.
