Bandits have an initiative of 10 while Poisoners have 12 so they are very useful for taking retal before your main stacks attack.
I would say upgrade to them just for this alone. |
| i agree with DiN, but you should only upgrade if you are sure that you will have enough gold to upgrade to shrews on lvl 8. |
