hi
sometimes i place a bid in an auction and the message saying my bid was accepted also says:
"You have been outbidden by another player!"
Then i bid again and the same happens. It seems there is a an option to fix the maximal amount you are willing to pay and let the system bid for you until that limit is reached, but i cant figure out where to define it... can someone help me?

Buyout auction. It is an auction where the creator places a lot to sell an item. The winner of the lot is the character with the highest bid at the moment of auction expiration, or the first buyer to agree to the buyout price. In the latter case, the auction is ended immediately. The buyer can take part in auctions, increasing bids gradually or setting his or her highest bid right away. In the latter case, the program will effectuate gradual bids instead of the Buyer, even if he or she goes offline, but won't bid higher than the preset maximal bid.

It is simply that another player bid at about 1/132 second right after you and managed to outbid you.
well it happens too often and sometimes 7 or 8 times in a row, and in each case, always with the same player. i click to bid, its outbidden, i get back to the page and click again, outbidden; repeat previous steps... are you sure its not a new feature or something? |

i thought that field was to define the value for the present bid

When you place a bid which is higher than the minimum needed to be top bidder the lowest bid in the range which will win the item is placed.
If someone else then makes a new bid (and it is lower than the maximum bid you made earlier) then the price will rise and you will remain highest bidder.
If someone bids more than the max bid you placed then they will become highest bidder. |
