Author | Why is This A Violation Of The Rules? |
Hiya all,
First off, I'm not implying anything about anyone. Just posting this query so I can understand the rules better for myself and maybe advise others if the same situation occurs.
1. Someone showed me this logs and asked me what is wrong -
06-20-10 14:35: Player was imposed a penalty of 1 gold. // +04-22-10 02:53: Transferred item(s): 'Mithril longsword [I9E9A9W10]' [53/68] to Petitoth . Transaction price: 120000 Gold
06-20-10 14:21: Player blocked. // financial assist: 04-22-10 05:18: Transferred item(s): 'Longbow [E10A9W9F9]' [6/50] to dziadu . Transaction price: 25000 Gold
I have some idea why this player is blocked, but I would rather be certain. Can some kind sol tell be definitively why this is an offense?
2. As for this sequence of transfers,
Player ZZZZZ Transfer logs -
04-22-10 03:25: Received item(s): 'Signet-ring of might' [11/40] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 1000 Gold
04-22-10 03:25: Received item(s): 'Signet-ring of might' [30/40] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 1000 Gold
04-22-10 03:03: Received item(s): 'Heavy mithril boots' [25/65] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 4000 Gold
04-22-10 03:02: Received item(s): 'Tower shield' [29/70] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 3000 Gold
04-22-10 03:02: Received item(s): 'Thief cloak' [9/60] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 5000 Gold
04-22-10 03:02: Received item(s): 'Fullmithril armor' [54/75] from AAAAA. Transaction price: 2000 Gold
04-22-10 03:01: Received 1 Gold from AAAAA: sell used arts. cheap price discount
Player AAAAA Transfer logs -
06-20-10 14:21: Player AAAAA blocked.
Player ZZZZZ Transfer logs -
06-20-10 14:58: Transferred 1 Gold to Empire : from AAAAA
06-20-10 14:58: Transferred item(s): 'Signet-ring of might' [30/40] to Empire . Transaction price: 1000 Gold
06-20-10 14:58: Transferred item(s): 'Signet-ring of might' [30/40] to Empire . Transaction price: 1000 Gold
06-20-10 14:57: Transferred item(s): 'Heavy mithril boots' [15/65] to Empire . Transaction price: 4000 Gold
06-20-10 14:57: Transferred item(s): 'Tower shield' [20/70] to Empire . Transaction price: 3000 Gold
06-20-10 14:56: Transferred item(s): 'Fullmithril armor' [42/75] to Empire . Transaction price: 2000 Gold
06-20-10 14:56: Transferred item(s): 'Thief cloak' [0/42] to Empire . Transaction price: 5000 Gold
Now looking at the logs,
Player ZZZZZ, which is a very high level player and knows the rules very well, knew he was buying a lot of arts at way below market price, which is illegal according to the rules. This happened in April.
He kept the arts for like 2 months, and when PLayer AAAAA was found out about all the illegal transfers and got blocked, he immediately (less than 30 mins) send all the arts to Empire.
So, we see that Player ZZZZZ accepted arts at way below market price, which makes them illegal transfers, and kept them for 2 months.
Then when the seller of the arts gets blocked after 2 months, he immediately send them to Empire.
So my query is this -
1. If it's arts at way below market price (thus making them illegal transfers), is accepting them (even if it's to send to Empire, an offense?
2. Is there a time frame how long a player can keep such 'illegal' arts before sending them to Empire?
3. Is the above whole transfer process legal?
Notice that I changed the names of the player concerned. This is coz I have nothing against the players. Just want to know the rules better.
Can the mods or anyone who knows the rules well kindly clarify this. Thanks. |
1. Its an offence because prices of those arts are not 25000 gold but about 500 000 on market. Based on elements prices, etc.
2. Who knows how the law is enforced anyway?? |
3. You might want to check those logs carefully to find out what was different between acceptors of the gifts nnt000 had sent. Some of them were penalised, some of them not. Its too long and too boring work to find out I think. |
#3
haha.. it's really too long and boring for me to do it. Besides, I'm not on a witch hunt against any of these players. Just curious about a part of the rules I'm not very sure of.
Also, I just went through the first 50 pages (too many pages to check all) of Empire transfer logs, I noticed there's not 1 instance where Empire accept any arts transferred to him.
- Can someone remember if Empire accept 'illegal' arts sent to him?
- If not, what would happen to the arts players send to him? Surely it can't be forever in 'limbo land', right?
Or can a player take them back after an 'x' period, and thus make them legal to use, or what? |
I think they are used going to the plane of limbo.
I think if you send arts/resources for free to empire/administration character, they dont have to accept them. They just go there instantly. I have done it in the past with some resources. |

Yeah, I know, but the above examples are with transaction prices. So either Empire have a special setting that accept such transfers automatically (I doubt so), or Empire have to accept them manually. |
nnts transfers were payed in parts... |
1. It's mistake of a judgement. I think only after 1 month we can know is this deal a financial assist
But player can write about transactions in log to avoid this |
Empire have to accept them manually.
:)
My guess is they were given chance to rectify the mistakes. |
As I think, block of lordmexx is also a stupid desicion. Why not asking him to transfer the weapon to empire in 7 days? A lv 14 account take at least one year to achieve. Admin just ruin it in 1 second. Are you just kidding? |
I think sometime ago players who violated the financial assist rules are fined a large quantity of gold instead of being blocked. I would say this is a much better idea than just block them with zero warning... |
In my case, I think Empire log in into my ID (I was kicked when online) and transfer all ilegal artifacts and 20k gold gift from nnt000.
My question :
1. What is the minimum price for buying artifacts with cheap prices? How many % from the real prices in market/shop/mine?
2. I am still confused with Empire decision about this case, several characters get penalty, several characters need to send their ilegal artifacts also return gold gift from nnt000, but why there are some characters who don't need to return artifacts/resources/elements,and also return gold gift? I won't tell the name of characters in here.
3. I know some of you will say that this not a big problem for me because I have quite enough money, but I just want justice here. If you look carefully in nnt000 log, there are some characters who get gold gift from him but only several who need to return to Empire. How about the rest?
Thank you for your explanation. |
but why there are some characters who don't need to return artifacts/resources/elements,and also return gold gift?
i haven,'t checked the transfer log, so this is just a speculation: maybe the first transfers made were within the 30% range of nntOOO, thus legal. further transfers were over the mark and thus illegal and punishable.
? |

Most likely you got phished/scamed. Did you change lately the email to one that someoen send you over mail? This way others can log in with your account and transfer all items they want. They even now know your password. Change your email and your password if possible or start a new account. |
For Zarebrant :
First,I also think same like your opinion, but if you check carefully at page 2 when nnt000 gave money/gold gift. Look at characters who also receive money/gold before and after me, you will know why I asked this. And this is only one example, there are several mores, hope Empire check it carefully. |
For Arghmage :
I'm sure this is done by Admin/Empire because the transfer was very clean. There was no strange transfer to other characters and all transfer was connected to gift from nnt000. But I have already change the e-mail and password. Thank you for your advice. |
for Someon3:

Wait, lemme see if I understand you correctly. You are saying that you did not make this transfer yourself, and believe Empire did it?
06-20-10 15:16: Transferred 20000 Gold to Empire : from nnt000
06-20-10 15:16: Transferred item(s): 'Heavy mithril coif' [66/70] to Empire . Transaction price: 2000 Gold
06-20-10 15:16: Transferred item(s): 'Ruby gladius' [62/70] to Empire . Transaction price: 4000 Gold
06-20-10 15:16: Transferred item(s): 'Warrior pendant' [20/50] to Empire . Transaction price: 5000 Gold
I'm asking coz if that's the case, then it answers 1 of my query in post #1 - that Empire automatically receives arts sent to him, and don't have to accept it manually, although I can't seem to see it on empire's transfer logs that he has ever accepted any arts.. |
For Jedi-knight :
I don't think so,Jedi. How about if they open two character (Empire and Someon3) with two different browsers? Because it is possible to do that, for example they open someon3 and send arts with google chrome and then open Empire and accept arts with Mozilla Firefox. You can do it less than 10 seconds. So we still don't whether Empire accept it automatically or manually.
But that's not my main concern. My concern is about Empire decision why several characters need to return anykind of gift to Empire and several not. For what reason Empire making his decision. Hmm... |

OMG , you really think 'Empire' has that much time ? |
Well, this thread is not to question Empire's or any admins' decision. So let's not go there. It's more to understand the rules better and how transfers are viewed as legal/illegal.
for Someon3:
So you are saying you did NOT do those transfers yourself, and you are suspecting it's most likely Empire who did it for you? |
