Subj. In QaH forum there are a lot of topics raised by russians\ppl from CIS who are looking for friends or just compatriots. I have to admit, there are a lot of ppl in Russia\Ukraine who don't know much english, besides the specifics of the language turns the automatic translation from and to it into a mishmash.
So the idea is to make a clip in QaH in russian telling about clans\ppl who can help you get acquainted with the game. That's really easy to do and will make at least one big community feel comfy about starting the game.
That's really easy to do, besides moderators can do it themselves after some mutual consultations, no sense of even getting admins worry about it.
PS Sure that this was offered a few times here, though :)
PPS you can make an international clip for every language you might wish to help users with, and even attach some txt FAQ\rules files in these topics to help everyone willing to get along with the game better. I am sure the corresponding language community can help you with this anytime.

Well.. I think this can be done. Just wait for the approval and create something like a sticky "Multilingual help". Pick 15-20 players who could help you with basic information for new players in multiple languages.
1.Link to national clans.
2.Basic info how to contact people who can help players in their native language.
3.Few hints about the game.
4.Should be one post, one language to keep it short and helpful.
Its not only russian, but various problems in other languages that keep jumping into Q&H. It would be much easier to just send the link to such a sticky thread instead of explaining over and over in English that the newcomer doesnt speak.
PS: Online translators are useless. Me horseradish, me not understood? |

absolutely agree, translators are meant to get the basic thought of something you don't have any idea of, not for communication. |

maybe attract more players...if lwm administrators ever advertise lwm again.
and the clips would help Russian players not quit immediately after registration because of frustration through communications.
i quit hwm because i didn't understand a single thing, and translating takes too long :/ |
I could easily translate information from English to French for French Players. Do I want to ? no.
English is the most known language, and its quite easy to learn it if efforts are put into it. Plus, since it is the most known language, it is useful for anyone to learn it.
Also, the idea is good, but as Omega22 said, it would be for all languages and not only russian. |

As to your idea...no. Did you know that there is a remarkably similar game to this one, and entirely in russian, one that recieves a lot more updates than this one, and run by the same people too :)
Perhaps those russian speaking players ought to check out that game? ;) |
Did you know that there is a remarkably similar game to this one, and entirely in russian- there are though some differences, besides my idea was not only to give people of different nationalities (i picked russian as an example, as it is closer to me) the opportunity to know the rules, but also to find friends and helpers, to accommodate them in the game, make them feel welcome by other players.
clip must be created and posted on ru server well, there are a lot of players on ru having links to com in their profiles, though not many will come here just because there aren't many events going on, unfortunately. Besides i know at least 5 ppl from my Ru MC who came here after some talk in the clan chat :). The situation will change after the first big war here, when people will feel the need to participate in the collective mobs killing :).
"everything about .com" thread will be too short, unfortunately, and mostly will have the information about what you don't have here, rather than what you have extra. by the way, as a matter of critics, on Ru the players do the huge job making their serv better, and there are a lot of active people, as well as huge creative community, who is working on some enhancements of the game on their own (clan lists, experience tables, craft information, scripts. And you even have helper clips made by Witchhammer clan :) |
there are though some differences
the ONLY difference there: .ru is a lot ore adcvanced than we are, with more arts and creatures and stuff
Bottom Line, why make a sticky for russian players (who might not speak english) when there's already a russian game that's exactly the same as this one? |

because there are a lot of ppl playing both this and that, and i understand them - there is hardly another project of this quality on the internet.
