Authornew enchant type
Was bored enough that i thought of posting here again ;)

So far as i know, there isn't an enchant that gives an initiative bonus....well, you probably know where this is going from here :)

What would you think about having an initiative bonus giving enchantment? The max would be something like S10 (I is already taken -_-) which would give +20% bonus to initiate. Just of fun, you could make this enchant only on footgear :D
(also a balancing factor, who would want to see shrews with +60% ini bonus from arts alone? O.o)

Of course, this particular enchant wouldn't be cheap...

60% ini boost??? Are you kidding? 1% initiative makes the difference between win and loss in many battles (for wizz at least)! How about 60%? You get to kill a whole army with one single stack of shrews before the opponent even gets a chance for a first turn!

Also this would render the thief guild useless. How about just get a thief invite and get to work (i.e., thieving)...

yes it would be still unbalanced, because one thing is when barb goes 20% earlier and the other when a mage, or chaotic DE, because enchant affect hero too

true :) But u also forget that while shrews will benefit from +20% a lot more than barb's troops, the barb troops will also get an ini bonus. Even if the DE in question has ranged units, orcs will be the first ranged units to act (unless he has poisoners, in which case there won't be a dangerous number of shrews :)

granted, i have no idea how this would affect a wizzy battle :S

shrews will benefit from +20% a lot more than barb's troops, and since in 3x3 you can't hide barb's riders it will be double hit if they stand in front, because ini adds % from the initial number, not just adds set, eg shrews will be much more affected, then chiefs since their initiative is originally much higher. if i remember correctly, the top ini stat in this game is around +60, so with craft on every enchanted item (even if sword+dagger) their ini will double and under haste - tripple

We will invest more in armour enchants then, and by "we" I mean the ever slow, ever lumbering Knights :)

I included that specifically because i didn't want high initiative factions to take advantage of this. This way, the most anyone can get from this enchant is a +20% ini bonus

add that to expert rapid+thief set and you've more ini than i can calculate ;o
actually, with an expert rapid and full thief set, u can get +65% initiative (plus a few % from faction lvl and TG lvl)

the same could be said for 4*10% weapons too :)
with the correct talents and enchanting the right art (like Ruby Gladius which gives +7% extra melee dmg) u can do a ton of extra dmg. Even without such an art, my xbows can do more than 1k dmg, and with a single 4*10% weapon, they will do atleast 1.4k O.o

The same applies here too, only the creatures with already high initiative will get a noticable boost from a +20%, and the rest will only get +2 to 4% ini bonus
That means Shrews ini will increase from 16 to 19.2 O_O
And Xbows ini will increase from 8 to 8.2, 8.4 XD

I think +10% is more than enough for S10.

S1 = +1% initiative = 1 Toadstool + 1 Abrasive + 1 Witch bloom + 1 Viper venom + 1 Meteorite shard + 1 Ice crystal + 1 Windflower + 1 Moonstone

(Fern flower should stand only for 5th enchantment as additional element)

if u think it would be better for balancing if S1 = +1% initiative, then sure.
