Wizard is pretty weak at thieving. Winning 2 out of 20 or 30 ambushes in min AP is nothing great, you can do it even with Knight with racial 0. Also those wins with wiz required about an hour game play. | @118: (0.75*0.8*0.8)*4 =0.48*4 = 2 mana for magic arrow. then with mana recovery, becomes 1 mana per arrow. but, for lightning:
mana = 0.48*5 which is also equal to 2 mana.
so its 1 mana for both arrow and lightning
i based the calculation on similar types of calculations, like increase in melee damage, effects of enchants etc., i'm assuming the same applies for mana.
it sounds nice, but intellectual vigour only lasts while lorekeepers are alive... once they die, it becomes 2 mana for both arrow and lightning. also, some talent points could instead go to erudition to give more knowledge AND spell power. | My caravan is not very weak.

wizs can win the "4 huge stacks type" DE caravan easily with right method and moves.
vs Dm caravan :
game become easy if u manage to make 3 small stacks cerberi around your dark gargs .
vs NEC caravan :
attract 3 small stacks vamp to your dark gargs , your victory +1
it's very dangerous if u have 1-2 wrong moves with your gargs , or attract a wrong big stack . easy game turn to hard game .
it's funny u can find :
sometimes u can win a huge caravan with excellent moving of gargs . sometime lsoe to a small caravan with wrong moves after drinking .
general speaking ,not very hard ... look at the Russian wizs , far easy on doing ambushing with 4th magic | vs barb caravan :
it's hard skin . but still a chance if your genies cast Poison/Confusion on orcs/cyclops |
