Elf is the best faction for hunts period
Hunter equipment also suits elves.
IMO Barbarians are next best.

| Wizards are hands down the best faction for both hunting and MG; there's a giant 50% Bonus damage vs. creatures and NO NEED TO WASTE MONEY ON STUPID HUNT ARTS - you can play with min AP and win easy. |
you may consider knight for merc quest.
griffin with Escort is a good choice while sowrdman could really help a lot in case there is a lot of ranged unit |
