| Actually it does increase total number of troops if your knight faction level is higher than 0. If you upgrade farmers to recruits, it enables you to exchange more recruits into higher tier troops. |
Upgrading farmers to recruits does not change the number
All though!
If you have training cambers
then you will know that each fsp lvl u\you get more troops
When using recruits instead of farmers you can gain more troops each time
So lets say, each next lvl u may get another 5 farmers, instead u will get 12 recruits ect
If you have 3 bows, you will get 7 bows |

Simply put, YES. That is a must-upgrade for all knights. Recruits by themselves are absolutely worthless (not even good to take retal >.>) but they're invaluable because upgrading from farmers to recruits DOES increase your total number of troops :) |

| so... if you want more troops, then upgrade your farmers to recruits. Remember, even if you have 0 recruits, just by clicking that arrow to upgrade farmers to recruits you will get more troops. |
