Some players are quick to complain about the LG change, maybe rightly so, but it fades in comparison with the positive changes, particularly the CG - finally, something to keep me away from the tavern :D
The concept of no gold sounds very interesting, I hope the gold we have saved can be converted, or that we are given sufficient warning so we can spend what we have before the change comes in. |

I am a very susceptible person, and (you might find this informative) I almost always derive my inspiration from you. From this forum and the community as a whole.
From what have I heard and read for the last 24 hours (for most of which I have been able to track the posting on the forum), there is an atmosphere of sorrow and depression, not taking separate cases, of course.

Like I said before in previous posts, I'm not Arctic, and even then, reading all the negative, doom and gloom posts is really demoralizing. Imagine the feeling of the person those posts were directed at. And it's THE person who brought us the updates as well. It must be awful..
It's a pack mentality. You say something negative, I'll add on. Next please..
And these are coming from the same people who laments that the server is not growing. How to grow if newcomers read all the doom and gloom in the forums? "We are dying", "This is the end", "Event? NEVER!". Great ways to encourage newcomers and raise the community here.
There's an old saying - If you have nothing nice to say, (replaced with language that's more acceptable for the forums) wiser to say nothing.

I'm sure you already know that the discontented ones only makes up a minority of the community, and most appreciate the time and effort you put into making this server a better place, and it did not go unnoticed.

I believe (and I daresay, require) that there are things to discuss in this thread https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890401 concerning several very interesting occurrences in the game during this last day that for some reason have been left unnoticed/disregarded by the players.
I am sure there are still players around that remember my favourite motto in this game that gave name to a news block: Surmises and Facts. I need the former to be able to provide the latter =)
Reading through the referenced thread yields several questions yet to be resolved/answered:
1. The Queen is sick and without an heir. Much speculation that this is a reference to Arctic himself and lack of someone to either back him up or replace him.
2. Whether or not the Dwarves are coming remains ambiguous in the storyline.
3. Councilor Kh'Everst noted that as the Empresses mood changed, so did the light in the room. No one else noted this. This begs questions on both fronts, how and why is the Empress tied in to the land (though this is clear if the Empress and Arctic are the same)? And, why was KH'Everst the only one to notice? |
Too good to know that some more exciting events will come this autumn.
Probably I am one of the people who said about negative things on this forum before like "the events will not come" etc. But Arctic you should have already known why people became so pessimistic.
Yes, long time ago we had a dragon hunt event, and a halloween event last year, but after that no event anymore. We do thought that admin is really busy and more event will come soon, but after we see that .ru got exciting events one by one without stop whereas nothing happened here except fortnight ST, we feel more and more depressed. Finally we had this "townhall meeting", we asked tons of questions but we got no reply. Arctic, you are the only one admin that speaks to us and I greatly appreciate this. But it looks to us like that the other admins just DO NOT CARE because they did not try to communicate with us.
Arctic, you can just ignore those bad words to you. I know A LOT of players who's been active all the time and cant wait for any event. We do not need too much, not more than what .ru have got. Actually if we can get 1/3 times of event that they've had, I believe few people will complain about this. |

I would be disappointed, if that Grand Update would be everything new for the, let's say, next half year.
Just keep us a bit up to date, even if it's only a "still working at some cool feature" from time to time, then most of us are happy, I think.
The worst you could do would be doing nothing and log off for a long time without saying a word.
Just don't follow the lack of information and interest presented by our dear admins. ;) |

The story line is based on true story that happened with us in the past 11 months, i think.
Nearly the same as slynky in#269, i think the empress is Russian admin.
She has no heir that because they want to keep this game source code secret as we 'd talked long ago.
Arctic is Councilors whose run the empire while the empress is ill.
And for no.3, i guess that we won't have any update, but the admins change their mind so Arctic is back.
What will happened if Arctic isn't come back ?
We would play the way we did and keep hoping for the update.
And now we got some update and then what next?

Jedi-Knight, I consider it absolutely normal that there are discontented people :) It might seem harsh, but one can never be good and satisfying for everyone at all (unless they are zombies :-D ). Discontented people provide important feedback, their opinion is as much welcome as that of satisfied people.
I do not mind them. I only mind those who shut themselves with a barrier of global negativity - you proved a very good point with your example about newcomers, too. |

| Arctic, you do a great job here. I do not care about the new LG rules. You and the admins have reasons for it. I'm just thankful that you have the time to give us the updates and I think most players here have the same thoughts. |
