If you have bought diamonds to exchange for gold, a TGI, or unit upgrades, I would like to hear from you on this thread.
Be it here or on ru, diamonds buyers keep the game running for the rest, so no haters here please.
Clearly we can see by the update, the admins are trying to draw more money for themselves and I do not have a problem with that IF they actually gave us, the consumers, what we wanted.
I never heard of any business that is not concerned about what their customers want. Do most companies use surveys to ask the customer how they can better serve them? Yes!
The actions of the admins are either out of ignorance or arrogance. They are great programmers and I admire their story line when they produce. The game could be fantastic if they would just listen to what we want.
Why go to all the trouble cutting if you do not address the real problem here? I know I still won't be buying diamonds because of this update. My mates want events and active admins who communicate with us.
On ru, things are as they should be so I buy diamonds at a steady pace.

So I am asking diamonds buyers to comment here and tell admins what you want and what exactly will it take for you to once again open up your wallets?
It is baffling to know that these guys want money but refuse to worry about what the consumer wants. WE WILL WORK WITH YOU! WE WILL SUPPORT YOU WITH OUR MONEY IF YOU WORK WITH US! If not, spite yourselves because I will keep playing here for free. It's up to you. I know of zero businesses who do not want increased profits. Stop being so hard-headed.
Again, those who buy diamonds keep the servers going so if you are playing for free, don't come here to rag at me/us. Maybe this is another vain attempt to get together with admins, who knows?

Thanks for your input. I think they care or they would not spend so much time trying to suck gold from us. I think they do not know how to achieve what they want and the answer lies with us, the consumer.
Their silence comes off as arrogance to me, coupled with the degrading profile of a certain custodian that pretty much sums up what I believe they think about us. If the game didn't have so much potential, I would have told them to stick it long ago and never returned. That's the sad part about all of this, the wasted potential.
Stay thirsty my friends | I was a diamond buyer, Ive stopped after Grand Update 1, where they changed everything and promised events. I was waiting for events, all this year, been waiting, just like my mates. Then we got the Townhall Meeting Fiasco, where we got promised answers to our questions, questions that has been translated to Russian by fellow players cause we got told that Administration had problems with English, good enough, we got ignored once again. Now that Grand Update 2 is simply another slap in the face of Diamonds Buyers, those who really support the game, it just means that our voice means nothing.
Its a disgrace, admins should be ashamed to think we arent intelligent enough to see that those updates are just to shut us up for a while, while they get their pocket full of our money. Well, I have to say, thats not gonna happen in my case. They promised things and never gave them, so they wont see any more of my money. Thats said, Happy Gaming (laughable) | for Dan-Panic:

I am still amazed that they refuse to approach us. They must think we are just noise makers. From my account here to the one on ru, it is night and day. I spent 415 Euros in 2 months there and ZERO here for about a year now.
DUH admins! Not too wise, although very creative.

1) Active, friendly admin who actually reads the forums, esp. the ideas and suggestions one, and actually acts on it.
2) Admin who takes into consideration of the popular views of the community when making game rebalancing acts.
3) Admin who speaks proper English.
4) Admin who explains himself properly when misunderstood by the community.
After all, this is supposed to be a community-based project where everyone should have an input on improving it.
Alas, I think this is a too tall order for them. Maybe the grand statement on the login screen should be changed :p
Meanwhile, my money is better spent on a Coach Madison Collection 2010! :) | All right, I have to repeat--many others had said this--the admins do not care. Period. All in all, what we have is a byproduct of their beloved 'kid'. They don't have to spend much energy or whatever to keep this one going. And they did not, most likely will not. The diamonds from here are bonus for them, I guess, and they don't care if it is not flowing at all.
So Back to the original point, I would say all the efforts of harvesting diamond (or donations) would be targeting the .ru. And we happened to get them while those staff tossed our way. | | oops, stuff... not staff ;) | I bought my diamonds for my Grand Masters. Actually spending more money on them than I've spent on other (not allowed to be mentioned) games with extremely active admins (PM me if you want more details).
But if I let's say wanted Anchorites at lvl 11, I wouldn't consider "Well the admins aren't active." It's more like, "I want them" Even if the admins were active, I wouldn't be buying diamonds on a regular basis for extra gold and whatnot, it's just a waste of money IMO. | Hey admins, I know you don't want to pay a salary for someone to babysit this server, so why don't you contact some technical school and open it up to interns who would work for free.
Unlike other careers, a very young person can be a wizard at programming and such. We would have what we want and it wouldn't cost you one dime, while creating enthusiasm here so we would start buying diamonds again. Win win baby yeah!

There are many other "free online games" (especially successful games) where admins DO communicate with their members. I miss completely the communication between admins and us here. Town hall meeting? Was this something somebody promises us or I am just drunk with Sake?
I am a big fan of the HOMM series. And this server brings people together with the same love to that original game. Of course, its not all"free" here as you guys already know but there must be also something that it must be worth to pay for. | | so can we still buy diamonds? with real money is what i'm asking | | IMHO you should stop spending money on the .ru version to. Right now the admins see that even if they don't develop the .com most of the international players are coming over to .ru where they spend $ (even if they don't understand the game and can't communicate with like 80% of players). I'm assuming you don't read/speak russian. | I bought diamonds up until late last year. I used them to buy my TGI and for some early castle upgrades. I stopped buying them once I learned that promises were being made that weren't being followed up on. What it would take for me to start buying diamonds again:
1. Admins that regularly communicate with us, be it good news or bad. Just give us some news and status updates. I don't expect daily, or even weekly updates, but at least monthly would be good.
2. Regular presence of admins to address bugs. Again, not necessarily daily, but someone needs to be here to keep things running properly on a regular basis.
3. Regular, consistent enforcement of rules and blocking of cheaters. I know that Lexa has been here regularly and working hard to help with this, and it is much appreciated, but I fear that the dark days will return when cheaters run wild for months on end without fear of punishment.
4. Followup on promises. If you tell us you're going to deliver something, deliver it... be it War with Dwarves, Townhall Answers, or whatever. If you make a commitment to us, keep it. If you're not sure you can keep the commitment, don't make it.
Updates would of course be nice, as would events. But I could live without those. I like the game, I enjoy it, but if I'm going to spend real money, I HAVE to see progress on all 4 of the above points. | Why are you cutting your own profits by ignoring us?
They are programmers to start with, could be lack of time, resources and enterpreneurship, i.e. project from the very start was not business orientated.
Language barrier is another possibility as a separate team is required to run this server.
Solution: We should buy more diamonds so admins can employ more staff while getting MBA at Harvard to run projects of that size smoothly, so everyone gets what they want. ^_^ | If the latest news letter comes to pass, I will open up my wallet and begin to donate once more. I will be glad to support a real effort with my money.

They don't speak English - that's why they can not work here with out Arctic's help. That's why we can not have a nice playground as .ru
Anyway, I can't see the future, if we go this way... If someone will ask me to spend hundreds pounds, exchanging for virtual money, I would say probably NO. And start looking for another way to get that gold. Me and many others, hard working, young guys.
But there is a good way to solve this problem.*
Instead of exchanging diamonds, set up Donate System involving sms.
And offer us f.e. something similar to the Christmas Event - when donators has got faster recovery time, can enroll more often, etc - and ask as for a pound or two / per month - for those upgrades - I promise there will be no one who wont send sms to get a donation code. Instead of 400 Euro from a single Modi, per 2 month, Admins could gain thousands ,a month. There is here a lot of young player who doesn't even have personal bank acc, but I'll bet Modi's head, that there isn't even one who doesn't have a mobile phone. You gonna ask why they would do that? Simply because without they will have no chance for sensible position :) and enjoyment of the game
And who will care spending few pounds. (That also may eliminate multi acc's problem).
[I understand that may be problematic, when we have players from whole world, but if you look at potential profit, you may change mind :D]

There are several problems with your solution.
You are thinking that a mere euro or 2 per month is enough to get upgrades or faster recovery time. Unit upgrades cost ~50 diamonds (some more/some less). A potion to skip the recovery time once costs 1 diamond:

Sure admins could make things slightly cheaper and offer more minor advantages for diamonds. But all that requires time and effort. It's obvious that adding more methods of donations would increase total amount of donations because some players can only use a certain type of method. But setting up all these methods also requires time and effort. Also some of these methods have overhead expenses as well.
There is here a lot of young player who doesn't even have personal bank acc, but I'll bet Modi's head, that there isn't even one who doesn't have a mobile phone.

I don't have a mobile phone. I refuse to buy one and participate in the sickening texting/talking non-stop crap.
And....the only person I have seen here that would have a shot at my head would be the missing link, Barilla so you better ask him what he is charging.

The only reason why I even have an old one, is because it's free! No, I don't mean the phone is free. I mean the phone + plan near net free. And I basically only use my phone sparingly and for emergencies (not that I have to). |
