well, if you mean faction unique skill (piercing magic) then IMHO it is not important. Most of the high lvl players play might DEs, so having piercing magic attack doesn't matter at all.
but then... I am (and always was) a necromancer, so my opinion about DE might be wrong :P |

Oh that is a long way for you:-) however, having high skill points is good for faster shrews.. but not necessary if you have a high TG level so the choice is yours.. and having piercing magic attack doesn't matter at all. |
| faction skill points (and by the way faction level) are always important for bonus like atack, defence and init but if you play Might DE, pierce is not that important, you will just need more arts to be equal other players with attack, defence et init. |

I have switched to DE at level 8. And stayed as DE for mostly. Never is too late to switch factions :-)
Well, piercing magic is a very good thing for high level magic DE. :-)

Your factionlevel gives bonuses to your troops, check out this table for actual numbers: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=10
Other than those bonuses, the DE also have piercing magic as their factions special power. For might DE's this is not so important. |
