With the bosses showing up in Pandemonium, what would people recommend as the best SP, knowledge and talent set up, if I wanted to be a pure magic demon.
for Barbarian-Fishy:

I would recommend you go for about 6-7 knowledge (you will lose some to the enemy spawns) and the rest to SP. As for talent, expert chaos so you can cast lighting.
I'm not sure if demon is good as magic :s. Maybe you could go into darkness and cast disruption rays, would be very good to help your teammates against the bosses.

Thanks Sir morphious. I'm looking purely for the boss battles. So the delay and disruption ray are the 2 main ones.

I'm also thinking pure magic may not be too critical. 6-7 knowledge, and 6-7 power so I can do some damage with my troops. If I went pure magic and got some serious SP, mass poison might be worthwhile, but it would be at the cost of mass delay, which seems to be more useful.

I'm level 10, so my options are limited. Level 11 seems much better. I could afford 2 dominion talents, and have pit fiends casting disruptions rays also. :-(

With mass delay you also get mass confusion, witch when cast at expert darkness magic can cripple shooters.

At level 10 you can't be both magic and might demon. So I suggest you go for a magic/def build, so you can last long enough to cast all your spells ;)
Hey im new to level 5 and as demon it seems there are many set ups i can choose from o.O haha i was wondering if anyone could help me choose my recruitment :) (i have spawns) soo this is what i've been looking at
1. max spawns wolf hounds and succubus BUT only 7 demons which are important meat shields in some combats :(
2. same as 1 but instead 28 demons and only 7 wolf hounds (but wolfhounds can get good damage in quickly from a long range.. power in exchange for meat?)
3. max hounds and succubus's, somewhere along the lines of 20 demons, but only 1 spawn (obviously not the best against wizards haha and also spawns seem to be able to hit higher damage than demons....)

Any suggestions as to which one i should go for or even better any new suggestions like what you are doing now/what you did when you were level 5?

And finally, might or magic? im thinking might but i ALWAYS end up clicking the spell book at some point in combat and then noticing i dont have any mana haha... Thanks in advance :)

Level 5 is a weak spot for demons. I mean you get like 7 succubi which aren't too great compared with griffins, and knights get 10! Anyways:

You basically want max succ/wolf/spawns. forget demons, they suck.
Talents luck is good since you can get it but basic offense will work too. Don't bother with hellfire (assume you're might anyway).

Level 6 you get a huge boost, up to 11 succubi (>50% increase!) and you'll be able to handle knights who only get +1 griffin, or 10% more. Still same set up and such. However, with 15 points you have really only one choice -- battle fury. It'll make you're spawns and wolfhounds much better.

Level 7 is exactly the same, just more troops (20 points still can only get battle fury. adv fortune is ok but really battle fury is the way to go)

Note: level 6-7 as demon you can easily beat any other faction while wearing similar artifacts in PvP. just have to use the right strategy.
Level 5 as I said is weak because of the only 7 succubi.

You say that demons are important in some combats. Which ones?
Thanks :) And as far as demons go they are usually the last thing attacked by enemies whereas spawns succubi and hounds can be taken out pretty quickly which means they will be enraged and in big numbers so if you were fighting something that managed to kill your power units its nice to have a back up of 30 enraged demons to outlast the opponent.. haha i guess their only valuable in really special situations... But thanks for your help :) I'll try to level past 5 quickly haha not like i need to save up a bunch of money for any level 6 constructions
Gold-wise it isn't very good to zoom past a level. But if you're into PvPs I'd wait until level 6 to play many of them. Level 5 I suppose is pretty tough for mercs though, so I guess there isn't much else to do. I see your point with the demons, but they just don't deal enough damage and are too slow to be worth it. Spawns are quick and deal surprising damage, especially with battle fury. Demons are left until last because, quite frankly, they aren't much of a threat. Oh, and at level 5, since your hero attack is still fairly weak, spawns can frequently give you enough mana to cast one, if not 2 (after gating pop up) magic arrows which are always useful at level 5.

Anybody has a good setup for NY throne battle? I always lost using demon XD
Throne Battles are inherently uneven. Demons can't summon. Because demons usually can summon, their units are generally slightly weaker at the same level as most others.

Emphasis on Generally. Don't ask me to explain why Demons get more Hell Horses, than Barbarians get Rocs, though.

Just accept half your enemies will probably be dark elves and you'll get crushed but pick up some nice free FSP.
uhm, when you try to summon , try summoning in the Upper Left corner...

I never wanted you to explain that -.- all of my enemies were DE in NY, so I knew I'd lost most if not all. Actually I'm interested on whether any player has any successful strategy using Archdevil's Summon Pit Demon.. It's actually very cool skill. If the skill is based purely on HOMM5, then 1 Archdevil is able to summon up to 2 pit demon from friendly corpse! (provided enough HP). Anyone has a success story with that?

I tried two different strategies:
1. Divide Devils into 2 stacks of 3 creatures each and summon with Archdevil's. It worked poorly since the Archdevil's stack was losing it's turn, so I could not attack with my best stack.

2. Divide the Archdevil's into 4 stacks (3-1-1-1). Place two small stacks in from to take the damage and to protect main stacks. Once they are dead (in the first round), summon pit lords with the 2 remaining stacks. This worked better although I still lost all fights against DE.
