AP makes a difference in group battles; not against neutrals (hunts, merc quests, etc).
Amount of units killed always comes into account; though, you get less exp from neutral units than when it is controlled by a player. |

I got around 350 exp in lvl 1
and now also i got around 380 in lvl 2
Why no change when level change |
I think the level change grants you more xp as you are able to kill more and tougher creatures.
So you get more xp by killing creatures (or damaging them) and it also depends on the AP of participants (I don't know if there's a difference and which is it between PvP and PvM.)
I'm not completely sure this is the way xp is calculated but this is my conclusion from my battles. |
Well i suppose it depends on how much HP we killed and our combat level
