does dominion of fire affect hellfire ?

Hellfire: Hero's stacks gain 30% chance to deal extra 7*7+[Hero's Spell power] Fire elemental damage. Each trigger of Hellfire costs 5 mana. If your hero doesn't have at least 5 mana, the talent won't trigger.
Dominion of fire: Character's Fire magic spells damage enemy creature's armor for 1 combat turn, reducing their defense by 2% per Spell power point, up to 50% maximum.
What I can conclude from their descriptions is that
1) if you have hellfire, your creatures have a chance to deal some extra fire elemental damage; so it is not a spell cast by your character.
2) dominion of fire offers some effects to the fire magic spells that your character casts.
3) as hellfire is not a spell cast by your character (even though it costs him mana while the event triggers) and so it shouldn't be affected by dominion of fire (neither would the fireballs cast by pit and cave demons).
4) firewall, as it is a spell cast by your character, it should receive the bonuses from dominion of fire.
However, this is purely based on reasoning and I have never tested, so please correct me if I am wrong :) |

Only correct answer you can get is based on logic. If you want to be 100% sure, try it. I have never observed such situation. You are asking about talents one of which is rarely used by low level demon players(hellfire) and second one which is also very rarely used by might wizards(and since its effect has been connected to spellpower after update, I havent seen anyone using it).
If you want you can try it yourself, because you can go through milions of battle logs and you wont find any demon who has ever used dominion of fire and hellfire. At least I think so. |
| Based on the definition of hellfire: It is the stack that deals the additional fire damage. Dominion of fire only affects spells cast by hero. So Darksooth should be absolutely correct. |
| Note that dominion of fire is almost dead talent after update because you would need 25 spell power to have its maximum effect. It is only useful at group battles with 2 might players and one spellcaster with dominion showering greatest stacks to lower their defence so his teammates can finish them off. |
