3) semiconductor physics refers to the study of semiconductor materials.the 2 most common semiconductors are silicon and germanium. semiconductors show electrical properties inbetween conductors(e.g metals) and insulators(e.g. wool).modern electronics uses semiconductors in electronic devices.
diodes, transistors are examples of such devices.
really this is a very interesting topic.but i have so little time.so refer a text-book for more. :P
4) doppler's effect refers to the change in frequency of sound waves(or light waves) when there is a relative velocity between 2 objects(one is the source, the other the observer). like when u stand infront of a road and listen to the noise of a car that slowly approaches u and then leaves right past u, the sound emitted by the car will seem to u to differ in frequency at different instants of time.
5) nuclear physics refers to the study of the nucleus of atoms.nuclear phenomenon includes nuclear fission(atom bomb) and nuclear fusion(concept of hydrogen bomb).nuclear fusion involves combining 2 nuclei of hydrogen to form 1 nuclei of helium. mechanism of the sun.nuclear fission involves destruction of radioactive atom to form smaller more stable atoms.works on uranium. :)
