At the moment if the shooter are blocked he will move to free spot (to get free shot later), but if player blokes it again it will move again and so on till it will almost die from heroes hits. So my suggestion is to make smarter shooters...
if he moved 2 times in a row and on 3th he cannot shoot (still blocked) then he will engage close combat attack.
In this way we can reduce one combat time and it will be more challenging and will show the true tactics. Otherwise some people just block for 20 turns and kill with hero... it definitely are not Tournament honorable!!! |

+1 see many elfs and demons(myself too) getting big advanage from this nand yes its stupid |

This tactic used to block shooter because the player wants to move their unit to get a better position..or better formation
-1 from me because like this also called tactic..we can't just enter tournament and keep killing..no fun at all |
-1 no challenge |

I use it, but only out of need, it is not tactics is it taking advantage of a stupid AI
For me the could already hit after he moved once |
Some smart players agreed that it is not a tactics it is just taking advantage of stupid AI...
I`m suggestion that they will move and try to find a free spot 3 turns in a row... and it is enough to move your other troops to good position... if you need to move more you can take one shot and then block again 2 times and still move your troops.... |

Two times of move are enough for players to adjust their troops.
It's also a suffering to see a replay with tons of hero attacks. |

I think this will make little difference. In fact a more drastic step could be taken to make AI smarter.
1. I think this change as described will make little of no difference. 2 steps before engaging should give any player more time than he/she needs to organize for the next wave.
2. I think AI needs to be smarter to evaluate the situation and realize that the shooter is blocked and there is no help coming to unblock him before it is dead. In such cases the shooters should just melee attack. I'd like to comment on some cases of what I think AI should do in some situations:
Situation -- reaction:
The unit is by itself, no other help is possible -- melee attack
There are other ranged units that are unblocked -- run
There are other ranged units that are lightly blocked by small enemy stacks -- run
There are other melee units too far away from reaching the blocker -- run towards the allied melee units
There are other melee units in range -- wait or defend |

if they will keep on running they get morale (if they get it they would destroy u )
it happens 2 me couple of times
of course I am talking about high initiative shooters
I know if somebody block the shooter very well shooters will not getaway
but as I said if u are not fully prepared they might run by morale and will kill u with their shot :)

Of course it will make a difference, why else would people be doing it including me? Is because you can't win without it, so we do it and try to ignore that it is stupid and a boring aspect of the game...
And better AI would be better, but this can be implemented easy, so better take a small step in the right direction instead of complaining that is not far enough and then stand still |
