Author | Change Disruptionray duration |
Atm the disruptionray is compared to every other darkness or lightspell way to powerfull because it: stacks, needs no spellpower and cant be disspelled.
My suggestion is to change it into the same rules as Stoneskin just that is is -def not +def. The steps are also -3,-6,-9,-12
IMHO a needed balancing for pvp. |
bla bla bla whats the big change man |
the change is big man but you are obviously not in the position to recognize it man. |
I think we should leave just the way it is. It is the only dark spell widely used by everyone. Also, casters are not that fast and disrupt can be bypassed by many ways...
-1 from me. You didnt give any weighty arguments. |
It is the only dark spell widely used by everyone.
True because its overpowered. For a casterbuild -12def in 1st spellround is also very attractiv and could be removed by disspells. A change would reward magicbuild. On both sides Light and Dark.
And this game will still have way more mightbuild characters. |
Ok, Stoneskin expert is twice has much power as Disruption Ray in term of Defense Rating. The only difference is there is a duration to one, and none to the other. Its been like that since the start, and wont change, its the only spell that need no change :P |

Eye for an eye was the way of living for a long time now we have a better system. Changing the Disruption would be a benefit for the game as well. |
for Makkadihm:
It was made this way, I believe, so that Magic builds had a way to do damage equivalent to the level of Might builds.
But it's not powerful enough to balance the magic builds with the might builds yet, and now you want to weaken it?
Shouldn't it be strengthened so that Magic builds can fight on par with might builds? |
For me makes magicbuilds better. Holy magic because you can disspell the disruption and Darkness magis because you can lower the def-12 in the first action. The impact of the magicschool talent and spellpower becomes the the rank it needs. |
+1 definately
It's way too overpowered. It makes quite useless most of the slow but resilient troops. They are already much neglicted; no wonder why when you can easily disrupt twice or more modern golems or I. zombies before they could even hit something.
It's much too easy to benefit from magic build with only 1 or 2 KN, and is much more valuable than some loosy heroe's attack.
It's also much too easy to be able to disrupt has much with a single dark witch or pit demon while with a full stack of it.
for jaxasx:
I don't really see ways to "bypass" it. |

from a RPG point of view I would say it is correct ...
Disruption Ray somehow demolish the armor, so it cannot be with a duration, once the armor is damaged, it is damaged ...
Stoneskin acts on the body of the troops, and cannot be a permanent effect, otherwise you would be a different creature ...
Obviously, this is only to have fun, I am not commenting on the right or wrong rule ;) |
BTW: Some Dwarf creatures have the ability Fullmetal, which makes them immune to Disruption Ray etc. |

The reason it isn't powerful enough to balance might and magic is because might can easily use it... The point of the suggestion is to make it such that only magic build can use it. Though I would argue it should still be able to stack. |

The spell needs balancing. |

I am not against stacking in general but the rules should be the same for each spell. When Disruption stacks Stoneskin or chartise should also.
Wait a moment then chartise is much to powerfull. It would be as powerfull as Disruptionray is now. |

Even though I can understand the request i don't think it should be changed.
The problem is that in lords unlike heroes V, you can control your spellpower/Knowledge combo in a much higher degree. So in lords it becomes more powerfull because you can have 0 spellpower and still utilize the spell with minimum drawback, that would not happen in heroes V because there is a element of randomness over the choice of attribute points. |
