The hunt being challening doesn't mean anything. As hpsim said, for most hunts, you will only get an achievement when you will BEAT (not just reach) the third place.
Why do I say it doesn't mean anything?
Well, if the 1st place killed 100000 creatures, the 2nd place 10 and the 3rd place 7, if you'd be facing 12 creatures, it will be a WHITE hunt but if won, you'd get an achievement.
And if the 1st place won against 100 creatures, the 2nd place against 100 creatures and the 3rd place against 100 creatures, if you'd be facing 100 creatures too, it would be a challenging hunt but you wouldn't get any achievement if you would win.
@ChooJeremy, you can beat the third place without having to beat the second and still get an achievement. Imagine the 1st won against 100 creatures, the 2nd won against 75 and the 3rd won against 50. What would happen if you would win against 60 creatures? |

sometimes new player who get first place go to second place cuz some new player is replace thier position. |

| i had a chance to get first in a hunt against 26 grosques but i failed now i can never get it. :'( |
| when you get a challenging hunt and you beat it you do not get a record,in order to get one you have to kill more than the no.of creatures the previous record holder had killed (min. 3rd place) always in challenging hunt ask for assist and kill very less.for more tips loook up witchhammer site |
