Now, take the chicken back and leave it on the starting side where u pick up the sack of grain. Cross the river with the sack and leave it on the other side. Then go back and collect your chicken..

Well, its answered now.. Try answering mine ...
there are 3 friends who go to a restaurant
after eating the food they get the bill ,, it costed them Rs.75
the manager gives them Rs.3 discount
and these guys give Rs.2 to the waiter

now the bill is after discount is Rs.(72 + 2)=74 [original bill + tips to waiter]

where did 1 more rupee go?
Let me try to answer those that aren't answered yet.
You are the bus driver. At your first stop, you pick up 29 people. On your second stop, 18 of those 29 people get off, and at the same time 10 new passengers arrive. At your next stop, 3 of those 10 passengers get off, and 13 new passengers come on. On your fourth stop 4 of the remaining 10 passengers get off, 6 of those new 13 passengers get off as well, then 17 new passengers get on. What is the color of the bus driver's eyes?
I don't know. The questions seems so off-topic lol.

There are a group of people standing on one side of a river. the group is made up of a policeman, a convict and a family consisting of a father, a mother and their 2 sons and 2 daughters. There is only one boat and only two people can move on the boat at one time. The children dont know how to row the boat and the convict, who has been caught by the policeman can obviously not be rowing the boat. The convict cant be trusted with anybody else, on the boat, except the policeman, as he may kill the other person and escape. The mother does not like the sons and may try to drown them if they are sent along with her on the boat. (Dont know y) Similarly the father cant be trusted with the daughters. ( I can understand this.. lol)
Let's name them
P = policeman
C = Convict
F = Father
S1 = Son 1
S2 = Son 2
M = Mother
D1 = Daughter 1
D2 = Daughter 2
Let's recap. C must always be with P, F cannot be with D1 or D2 with M, and M cannot be with S1 or S2 without F.
Start->
F - P
S1 - C
S2
M
D1
D2

And then mother move back and forth bringing the daughters over.
Correct?

So let me get this straight...the cost of 75 rupee is 70 + 2 (amount they gave) + 3 (discount)
Hence the 72 they paid is the cost (70) + 2 (tip to waiter)
Hence the 72, so you should -2 instead of +2.

Now here's mine:
You have countless pieces of ropes. They are of unequal length and size, but you know that as long as you burn one side of the rope, it will take a full one hour to burn. However, since they are of unequal length and size, not size, um, thickness, you cannot fold them into half to measure 30 minutes. The front part of the rope may take 45 minutes to burn since it is very thick and the second part could only take 15 minutes.
In any case, you know that the total amount of time taken to burn a rope is 1h.
Question: How do you measure 45 minutes?
Correction:
F cannot be with D1 or D2 with M
Should be:
F cannot be with D1 or D2 without M
@63- Plz explain till the last.. I dont know why these were written,though?

F - C
M - P
D1 - S1
D2 - S2

F - C
M - P
D1 - S1
D2 - S2

D1 - S1
D2 - S2
- F
- M
- C
- P
If t@63- If rope has uniform centre(from which thickness is mentioned then, we can cut half of one rope thro the cross section and one quarter of another..
@62
where did 1 more rupee go?

that is the balance money you keep it with you.
@54, 55:
Yes, it's white because it's in the north pole, because walking to south, then to east and then to north is creating a closed circuit (he reaches the position he left), which is only possible at the north pole.

This is why it's white, so it's not a senseless question :D.
@63 - You can burn 2 ropes at the same time: one from one end, the other from both ends.
When the second rope completely burns 30 minutes passed. So you burn the other end of the first rope, which will completely burn in another 15 minutes.
So you know that 45 minutes passed.
Suppose you are lost in a forest, and that forest is lived by 2 tribes: one's tribe people are always telling the truth and the other's tribe people are always telling a lie. You finally reach a road with 2 ways: one which goes deeper in the forest and the other one which goes to a city. You want to go to city but you don't know the way. Then you meet one man, but you don't know which tribe is he from.

What could you ask him to make sure you know the right way?
@70-
simple- What will the other tribe members answer if i ask them which is the way to the city?
Whoever it is their answer will be the city that leads deeper into the forest. So, u go the other way.
Sorry for the double post:
I wrote:

I wanted to write:
Whoever it is their answer will be the way that leads deeper into the forest. So, u go the other way.
for escutcheon:
Yes, this works.

And you could also ask them what would they answer if you'd ask them which is the good way, and they'll tell you the good way.

Another one:
You have 6 chains: 1 of 5 links, 1 of 6 links, 2 of 7 links and 1 of 8 links and 1 of 9 links.

But you want to get them together so you're going to a smith and ask him to join your chains. He tells you that each cut and paste of a link costs 1$. However, he is a good man and is trying to make you pay the lowest price possible.
What is the price and how did he proceed?

for ChooJeremy...

read the first word mate, you know the answer:p
@70
ask the man if he's a man or ask him if he's alone :)
@73- He was paid $5. He used the 5 links of the 5 link chain to make connections between each of the others. Right?
he paid $1. he cut the link of one chain, insert the link of the other chains (if that is possible) and then paste the one link he cut.

I think ur q is wrong i hv done this q bt i think 75 ws nt d value, actually it ws a simple q where value suppose 75 ws nt d exact multiple of 3, it left with pts. (.33+.33+.33=nearly 1) so they cudn't get 1$ back
Ann purchased a house for $ 139400. She wants to sell it for a profit of exactly 15%. However, she does not want to sell it herself. She wants a Real Estate Agent to sell it for her. The Agent must make a commission of exactly 5.7% (in addition to Ann's 15% profit). How much must the Agent sell the house for? Give your answer to the nearest dollar. [quote/]
for escutcheon:
yes.
