can a secondary character Join?
Hiya guys and gals,
I have received a few applications from additional characters.
Although there are no specific rules stated anywhere that additional characters can't join an official clan, the mere fact that additional characters are not allowed to post in the forums is all the reason needed as to why additional characters won't be appointed as a Moderator. |

I'm only answering in context to this thread and the applications for Forums Moderators. :)
Someone else with more insight and have an official answer may be needed to answer you better. Although in my opinion, allowing additional characters to hold any of the above positions would defeat the whole purpose of the '1 mod, 1 MC' policy. |
The policy is there. It's pretty simple. Why argue it? When I was a mod, I had no problem with clan mates and gave more than one a forum holiday and they all accepted them. Check out Jedi banning clan mates who can't read a 24 hour clock in the clans forum for an example.
The biggest problem any mod faces is the lack of direction from above, and being hung out to dry, even when you behave using the same style that the fly-in - disappear Russians do.

By "Forum Holiday", he means a ban. In other words, all players were treated the same, regardless of clan.
But the problem isn't so much as the mods will do something bad, it is that somebody might suspect them of doing something bad, and that could lead to other people thinking a specific group of moderators are being kinder to clan mates.. It sounds stupid, but yeah. |

That has never happened. Most players dig for or even create problems just so that they can bring a good person down.
"Hounds will be let loose by bad acts to attack a good act" is more like it. |

This is an official clan controlled by Empire. Clan members, known as Moderators, watch the law and order at the Forum. A Moderator is able to ban any character at the Forum.
Important: Banning means temporary withdrawing access to posting at the Forum. There are no other punishment options at a Moderator's disposal.
Moderators do not have extra rights over the Queries and Help forum. It is being moderated by Sages, clan #266.
There are the following rules for members of this clan:
- New members are recruited by Staff Department members only, during recruitment periods. Topics in General game forum are opened for each recruitment period. Candidates are welcome to send their applications according to regulations posted in that thread.
- New members may also be recruited personally off recruitment period, exclusively by the initiative of the Staff Dep. member. Mailing clan recruiters and asking for invitation to this clan at any time other than recruitment period is senseless.
- This clan may have no more than one representative of any one Military clan at any moment.
- Members of Military clans may not send their applications/resume's for an official clan position during any recruitment period. Instead, the Military clan leader sends a recommendation for any one member he or she considers appropriate for this position. Such candidate must be discussed within the clan. Military clan leaders may send only one recommendation for each post at a time, recommending different members of their MCs into different official clans is allowed.
- The Staff department character then analyzes the applications and reserves the right to reject them. If a recommendation for a Military clan member is rejected, the leader of that clan will be notified immediately and may recommend a different member in the same manner, until the end of recruitment period.
- If a member of an official clan becomes a member of a Military clan that already has an official listed, one of the two officials will be evicted. This decision is taken by Staff department character.

There's no winner as being a moderator. Moderator is a work, and work isnt something to 'WIN'. :)
