if i buy a resource at the price of 369 from the mine and then sell it on the market for 372 and someone buys it i get charged a 1% tax by the empire. that comes out to 3.72 tax meaning that i lost .72 gold on the transaction. is my math right and does the empire round up? |
The empire always rounds it up. If you sell a resource for 372, the commission charged will be 4. |
You should try to sell your resources to facilities...no transaction charge there ;) |
true but much less consistent i was just curious if i up my price to 373 id be just breaking even meaning to make a profit id need to sell for 374 at least but i notice most sell for under this and are thus losing money. |
If you sell at 373, you will be breaking even if you sell them individually. But suppose someone buys 10 at one go, then commission charged will be 38 gold which gives you 3730 - 3690 - 38 = 2 gold profit. Negligible obviously, but I'm just stating a case here. :) |
ok thats a good point but still must people on the market sell for less than that and a profit isnt guarantee with that method but it is possible alright. |
also people sometimes buy resources in order to enroll.
E.g. the facility in yellow lake with not enough gold on the balance to enroll.
You buy 2-3 sulfur, balance goes up, you can enroll.
Then if you sell the sulfur with no profit on the market, it might look like you are not making any profit. But you did make profit because you could enroll where you couldnt enroll otherwise.
(this also happened a lot for defender shield in SH and a couple of other facilities) |
