I suggest for weather and terrain to make a change in combats...
For Example, when someone creates a challenge, he/she may choose a terrain and a weather. The terrain will be altered every 10.5 turns. For hunts, the game can be changed to be based on a country's season[Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter] and change terrains. I've listed some terrains below:
Volcano[Already Existing]: Decreases all non-demonic stacks' defense by half.
Forest[Snowy][Already Existing]: Decreases the speed of all stacks by 1.
Forest[Autumn][Already Existing]: Increases the attack of all elfin stacks by 3.
E.T.C.
Plus weather:
Sunny: Increases the attack of all stacks by 2 but decreases their health by half.
Snowy: Decreases Attack and speed of all stacks by half.
E.T.C and so on.

Make a difference for factions?! Not good for balancing in my eyes. Guess what happens when someone creates a challenge, he/she may choose a terrain and a weather. No challenges will be held, since everyone picks his favorable terrain and weather, whereas noone will join since there are big disadvantages.

I would make it totally random, and in effects just altering some stuff and not just +3 attack for elves, but equally for everyone, or +3 attack together with -6% ini.

Wizards would always choose Snowy Forest since they are unkillable then (-1 speed,-half att/speed).

The idea is nice, but effects should not intervene with balance.

I like the idea but with some changes.

1- Terrain must be random
2- Terrain doesn´t have effect in duels ( only in 2vs2 or 3vs group battles, maybe you have a penalization but your mate have advantages )
3- Terrain doesnt have effect in hunts but yes on ambush
4- A bit more restrained penalizations or benefits
5- All factions must have the same amount of favorable and unfavorable terrains
Not good for balancing, hence should not apply to PvP battles.
I don't like it if hunts are affected by terrain/weather too.
But I wouldn't mind it if it is random for ambushes or MQ.

Also need to stress on the importance of point 5 of #6:
All factions must have the same amount of favourable and unfavourable terrains.

Sad about this topic is that it will never get implemented, since it causes much work, even just to make the graphical animation for all this different weathers :(

really liking the idea of having a choice of background...! (visually)

but the stat-effects part... hmmm, don't know for sure if i would like that... getting lucky (or not) with the rocks on the playing field is enough element of chance for my taste, i guess...
-1 speed would kill dark elf faction.. since they rely on first turn strike with shrews, if they lost that then they would be underpowered and at the mercy of gmb or monks or orcs ^^
i think this would either kill or make hunt records.

so -1 to hunt... but i personally would just like the visuals but none of effects:)

If i'll make any change should be like, stand on specify place increase attack +1 or +2

Or decrease -1% initiative for ALL shooters, things like that, not what you suggest.

This is one of the best ideas I've seen.

It would be great if for example I want to battle a person who is at a level higher than me. (Level 14-15) I can challenge him/her in a battle where the terrain is in my favor. Cuz as of now, mostly people battle only those who are on the same level in 1vs1. But in case of terrain, the scope of PvP will be widened.

Besides, another add on could be to decrease the experience gained for the one who is favored by the terrain, this would make the battle even more fair.

What is there to be "used to ur advantage" when the terrain gives attack bonus and its a duel wizard versus elf who then just rapes the wizard?

Or speed bonus, where the efk rape 3 stacks of the enemy before they can act?

Or def bonus, where the wizards units just don't die and he can cast as long as he wants?

Since this weather stuff sure enough has many antagonists it should be optional at least and then random, if chosen.

Luck and moral are bad enough.
Do not introduce another parameter to determine win/loss.

Maybe introduce obstacles e.g fire pools with fire damage if you walk over them but NOT something players can not have control over.

This game should be about tactics (obstacles will enhance tactical play) but weather will overpower or underpower some factions. And do we need that? since above combat lvl8, factions are (somewhat) balanced.

+1 if it is random and only minor adjustments (e.g. +1 attack with -1 defence)... i.e nothing major.
