Since necros can buy skeletons from the market, is it possible that they buy 3000 - 4000 at a time and then can use all of them in a single combat? or is it that after a battle the amount of skeletons killed is reduced from the total amount?

No not possible to use that many skeletons in a single combat.

Necros can get limited amount of skeletons as bonus according to their necro level.

So, no, you cant use all of them at once. If you lose your skeletons in combat you lose those from reserve yes. |

After a battle, the amount of skeletons killed is reduced from the total amount (your reserve).
If they lose the battle then the total amount recruited from reserves are lost, if they win then a percentage are lost. Most necro's never need to buy from the market hence low prices (unless they are losing a lot when ambushing in min ap as thieves to try and reduce caravan difficulty), for example I have just over 50k in my reserves and have not bought any from market except a couple of hundred I bought at Cl 5. In general the amounts gained after each win v's living creatures more than cover their losses. |
