Not true. In the (very) long run, you will lose money.
Analysis for betting on even/odd like this:
Tactic: Bet 100, then 200, then 400, 800 and so on. If you win, go back to 100. Whenever you win, you get winnings of 100 gold.
Analysis: Let's assume you can only make n bets before going bankrupt.
Chance of losing once = 10/19
Chance of losing n times = (10/19)^n
Gold lost if you lose n times = 100 * (1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + ... + 2^(n-1))
= 100 * (2^n - 1)
Chance of winning = 1 - (10/19)^n
Gold won = 100
Expected winnings = 100 * (1 - (10/19)^n) - ((10/19)^n)*100*(2^n - 1)
= 100 - (100 * (10/19)^n)*(1 + 2^n - 1)
= 100 * (1 - (10/19)^n * 2^n)
= 100 * (1 - (20/19)^n)
Which is clearly negative, i.e. a loss. In fact, the more you bet, the greater your expected loss. However, this is only in the long term, because it will take a long time before you lose.

Makes no difference for an infinite, perfectly distributed sequence of random numbers. The algorithms used now are very good approximations to this. |

I thought you meant that probability means that you will win, but even then there is a small chance that you would lose. In the same way that "probability teaches that 100 guardians almost always stun 1 goblin, but it is 'almost' so they may not".
In this case, what you said would not be true, because probability of winning gold in the long run is less than 1/2. |
if u enjoy roulette, play it with a multi, and use strategy, if u want to learn best tactics google somthing like best way to bet in roulette.
i started by betting max on same number all day didnt come out so went broke, now ive learned to bet min u dont win much but u lose alot less :).
its fine saying dont play it..but its better than going to casino and betting real money. at the end of the day "dont bet more than you can afford to lose" and use profits. |
