Whatever you prefer, most probably both english and russian.

I hope we won't have the slightest interactions with non-english speakers. At least I hope it will be not a must to do so.

No, if we play under the same conditions we will be at a disadvantage.

No, definitely not. Even some russian guys who play here don't want the merge.

I'm afraid nobody can answer your questions now , cause we got no details about the merge at all. We can just hope that admins have thought of everything that will ruin the balance and do their best to avoid it, since they decided to merge the servers. |
This merge will be the best thing which could happen to our server.
Instead of the server slowly dieing due to lack of admin support we are going to included in a very successful server which is well supported and has plenty of events.
Cheats and scripters will be hunted down and removed.
It is obvious that admins have taken a lot of time planning what they are going to do. They are very aware of areas where we are currently falling behind the the people who play on .ru and will not doubt take this into account when merging. It is in no ones interest for them to just move us across as is without taking steps to "adjust" our stats, faction levels and countless other things to let us interact on an equal basis.
Similarly there will obviously need o be various options for people with curremtly more than the 3 allowed characters and/or duplicate character names etc.
For those of you who seem to be scared of change and moving forward you just need to ask yourselves one question.
"Why would the admins spend so much time and effort to merge the servers if everyone would be so unhappy afterwards that they would just stop playing because they were much weaker, could not continue to play the server in English (and potentially other languages) or were going to lose any of their investments in time/effort/real cash/etc."
Answer = If they were not going to ensure the merger was done in such a way that the .com players would be happy and continue to play then they would save themselves a lot of time and effort and just leave us as we have been for the past few years or they would just shut .com down".
Rather than act like spoilt children and throw a tantrum because things are changing, take a step back, a deep breath and decide for yourselves AFTER the merger if it was good for us or bad. |

The funniest part I have noticed is that, in many cases (not all obviously), the people who are complaining most about the changes we will get are the same people who were previously complaining most that we were not getting any changes.
But they are quite good about it ;) |

I have some concerns about the merge, but this topic is about the politics of doubt, fear and envy.
We all have a lot of unanswered questions about the merge.
I do think it would be great is some of the game designers in charge of the merge would participate with our community when the testing starts to take shape, and consider some of our feedback and concerns, as well as explain what they are doing to overcome some of the commonly suggested problems.
Now at this stage, I don't know if this is on the agenda or if there will even be a merge FAQ.
But at the end of the day we won't know if the merge will be a net good thing or not. But one thing is known and that is the game is declining on this server.
Even if we got a quadrupling of events, I don't think the game will grow that strongly. In any case the (lack of) events weren't the big issue. The big issue was the lack of advertising. There isn't even a wikipedia article on the game.
