I am a bit confused as to how elemental damage is applied in combat.
Is is simply an extra damage modifier which is applied on top of normal combat damage?
Or is it something else?
Thanks. |
I am not expert but i think elemental damage is applied through elemental spells... |

If you're talking about talent as cold blade, or enchants on weapon, it's applied on top of normal combat damage, but is affected by elemental resistance (it would deal, for exemple, no extra damage if it's extra fire dmg used on enchanted garg). |
If it is a spell, then this page: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=31 tells you exactly what the damage is, depending on type of magic school, mastery level for that magic school and spell power.
If it is elemental damage from an enchantment, then the normal damage is applied, and *additionally* to it an elemental damage depending on the modifier percentage.
For example if the normal damage is 100 and the modifier is 10% elemental fire, then the final damage would be: 100 + 10 elemental fire.
Note however that some units are immune to some elemental damages, like for example Enchanted Gargoyles are immune to fire. So that elemental damage does not apply in those case (since the units are immune to it) |
Does it ignore physical resistance ? |

Thanks naviron you have been most helpful.
I was actually talking about talents like cold blade and weapon enchantments. |
