This really intended for our newer players (hopefully those that have been here a while are wise to this.
We seem to be having a resurgence of "loan scammers".
These will be people you dont know, generally low levels or people with big roulette losses.
They will send you a mail like: "Hi can you give me 3000gold?? i give you back 4000 gold today ok? in 1 hours please :D"
They do this because if you include the interest in your transfer description they know you cant report them. If you did then YOU would be fined/blocked for charging interest while they (visibly at least) have done nothing wrong.
If you have received such a mail, or any mail from people you dont know asking you for gold/loans/etc, then click reply, change the "To:" name from theirs to "Insults" and send it.
This will result them fairly quickly getting a fine and an entry in their transfer logs as a warning to others. If they repeatedly offend they will most likely eventually be blocked.
If you have already fallen for this scam then you have almost certainly lost your gold. What you need to do is asap send them a 1g transfer saying you only want original amount sent back with no interest. After one month when they have not returned your gold create a post in CaA forum section and they will be fined twice what the borrowed.

Also a little advice.
If you put in your profile something like:
"DONT MAIL ME FOR LOAN, I WILL BLACKLIST U "
This in your profile will disuade 99% of beggars.
And of course if you receive that kind of pm. Delete and block without answer. |
