Is waiting 2 times the same as defending once in terms of Initiative or a little different? |
Wait: Orders your stack to wait for further commands. Waiting means delaying the stack's turn for half the usual waiting time. For characters, this button is equivalent to passing a turn.If a stack or a character waits, its position on the scale is moved backwards for only half of the full cycle.
Defend: Orders your stack to take defensive position. If you choose to defend, the stack's defense increases by 30%. For characters, this button is equivalent to passing a turn, as it is impossible to attack a lord.
so half cycle would mean 50% and if you wait again then 50% more
let one creature have 10 ini and it waits. If not wait it would get its turn 20 turns later(20 movements of other creature+heros). If waited the turn would come after 10 turns and if again wait then 5 turns more if would mean 1 turns later in whole. So we infer that 1 defend is not equal to 2 waits in term of ini. |
Press defend= you moved 1 round, press wait 0.5 round |

I didnt get your last part. |
if a creature get original turn by moving after 20 turns, then after waiting 2wice, the turn will come after 15 turns whereas with defend it will come after 20 full turns |
for barb_ruler:
Why after 15?
Not 21?
I mean say it had to come after 20.
so wait and comes after 10.
now again wait so again after 10..which equals after 10x2 + 1 spent on waiting in between=21
or is it wrong? |
I didnt get your last part.
Good thing, because he's totally wrong.
You are correct that waiting 2 times takes the same amount of initiative-bar time as defending once, assuming that morale is not triggered on your defend action. |
orale is not triggered on your defend action.
defend does not trigger morale(at least i have seen) |

I don't trigger on defend in LWM only in heroes V |
In short:
Wait takes half a normal turn (Same as if morale triggers)
Defend takes an entire turn and gives you 30% more defence.
=> So pressing wait twice in a row takes the same amount of time as a defend or a move without morale trigger
------
If you hover your mouse over wait button, you can see how far ahead your unit will now come on the ATB bar |

No. Your units move does not take any kind of turn. Think of it as instant. So, if you wait twice, 3rd move comes "after 20". |
