Authorfortification

i dont really understand this ability..sometimes the attack is normal sometimes its reduced..
It depends on the number of tiles the attacker must walk before hitting. The more tiles it must cover, the less damage it will do to the mountain sentries (10% reduction per tile, I believe).
It is 10% per title up to a maximum of 90% reduced damage

Example
If a shrew hit you while it is moving 8 squares you will only receive 20% damage
fortification actually works opposite way of jousting(cavalry/paladin).
if your troop move 1 tile to perform melee attack of Mountain sentries, final damage will reduced by 10%
(1 tile move and perform melee -> 10% less melee damage)

if your troop run 9 tiles and hit Mountain sentries, the final damage while be reduced by 90% less(max reduction)

if your troop hit Mountain sentries from adjacent tile while do normal damage(no deduction since no tile movement)
so if a vampire or ghost want to attack, how should it move to do normal damage?
If a shrew hit you while it is moving 8 squares you will only receive 20% damage

how to calculate squares(tiles) covered in movement if unit doesn`t move through a straight line??
and question from me while in the same topic:

Do creatures with 'Teleporter' ability also affected by this abilities?
#6

Do you mean movement along the diagonal? If yes, then one tile covered along diagonal = 1.5 tiles.
so the attacker shouldnt move straight line to attack?
so the attacker shouldnt move straight line to attack? no
so how to deal with the ability?
for Yuri_Gagarin:
thx

You need either to get closer to the target stack on your previous turn (by using delay or stun according to your class) and hit before his own turn comes, or let it approach first so that your unit doesn't have to move.

Also you can use poison, shoots or magic, those will not be affected by fortification.
so how to deal with the ability? attack from closer(but not in there range :P )
one thing if you are planning for hit and run tactics on them lol it won't helps much
im asking for my necro multi..but its still hard to understand unless i got to try it now..
Still didn't answered #7 ... I don't wanna make another forum :P ... Same topic anyway...

Description:
"Every title the attacker covered to hit"

I see no reason why teleport unit should not also be affected, but have not tested it, so cannot be 100% sure.

my genies are flyers and are affected. so i think teleporter are affected to. but dont know...
What about large creatures? Technically they cover 2 tiles per movement (straight line). So if you move 4 spaces forward then you covered 8 tiles. Does that mean they get 80% reduction?

What about creatures with multiple strikes? Does the damage reduction cover the first strike only or all of the strikes?

Large creature don't move two titles, they move just as other units.
Otherwise there speed should be twice as big. Another example is jousting and Liz charge which both is movement based and are originate from large creatures.

Good question... I have no idea.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
