Author | Chance to place ore and wood on battlefield |
Actually there are some random stones placed on the battlefield.
It would be nice to have chance for the players as well for placing ores or woods on the battlefield after troops adjusted and before combat starts.
The idea is:
- maximum 2 resources could be placed
- player needs to own those items (wood or ore) what wants to place
- the zone where it could be placed is only in the 4-5-6 coloumn for left side player and 7-8-9 for the right side player.
- if 2vs2 or 3vs3 combats only the own territory is usable
- if any wood or ore is used it will be removed from player resources (it means that player who use resource for blocking opposite player need to spend gold on it) |
I quite like the idea, needs some more clarification and balancing so that it doesn't disbalance the game, though great concept.

of course these barriers will be only visible for the opponents when the combat started and not before. |
Doesn't that mean hunts against large creatures would become too easy? Shooter will be virtually untouchable. You simply have to place a wood or ore diagonally to the shooter and that's it. I think hunts, mgs and such would become unbalanced..:S |

it only in GBs |
oh Ok.. +1 for interesting battles :) |
i think its an awesome idea. +1 |
I am not sure until this idea develops more. My initial thoughts are that it would provide an unfair advantage to some factions (specially wizards) but also to any factions whos large creatures can fly/teleport/etc. Factions with large creatures who can usually reach opposite troops first move (ground moving) would be at a major disadvantage.
It would give rich players with lots of resources (like me) an unfair advantage when facing anyone who is a roulette junkie or bad at managing their finances. You can't discount the many players who don't even have a full ap set without resorting to renting arts as an extra ~400g for each battle to compete on an even basis would be very hard for them. We should be trying to encourage more players to fight GBs and not be putting more hurdles in their way.
So +/- 1 atm but I may change my thinking later in the thread when I see how it develops.
A possible amendment would be to allow you to "attack" the oppositions resources which would let you capture them (to add to your resource levels).
It also needs to be taken into account that together with rocks etc there would be a percentage of battles where you could create and area where large creatures could never reach. Stick some shooters/shrews in such a tile and you can imagine the results. |

Good point!
This kind of GB (PvP combat) could have a special type of selection criteria when cou create it. So only those players can join to the combat, who accept these conditions. |

Maybe we could make a compulsion that the resources can't be placed in a field if it restricts the big creatures from accessing the area. |
Just make it that resources cant be placed in the first two rows from any direction. |

I love this. I'd put it all around my gargy's corner, and, wizard would be invincible. |
PS.
for RZeee: Who are you working for? (I promise absolute confidentiality) |

In my original proposal:
"the zone where it could be placed is only in the 4-5-6 coloumn for left side player and 7-8-9 for the right side player." |

this is one of the best ideas i've ever read :)
although i think further development needs to be done so that it doesn't provide too big an advantage for/against certain factions |

I like this addition. It would solve any issues of large units being unable to reach shrews or shooters. Once the resource is captured, the tile would be clear again.
Of course this could still be quit disadvantageous to certain factions/creatures especially when combined with already existing obstacles on the field. The feature to add resources on the field could be an optional type of battle. And if enabled, then all players won't be able see existing obstacles on the field before setup or the field could be clear of any game-placed obstacles. Also a maximum of 1 resource per player so blind areas can't be created. |
Maximal of 1 resources per team
all team member cost the same elements + gold(180)
All member have to agree on position it as it was 1 resources per team
all players have to put it on same location, otherwise it would dissolve into soil
Discuss about location in Team chat
location are fifth column from each team
Which means 5:x for team 1 and ?:x for team 2
Otherwise, 2 resources per player would confuse battle field and will make some large creature not to move. |
