Author | Strange moves of the lorekeepers in the end - why |
https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?warid=504712638<=-1
Can anyone explain the last few moves of the 3 lorekeepers, when they ran away from the garg and then closed in again? It was like, they were roaming in a garden. I never witnessed such moves before. Normally, they keep waiting near the garg, until they get a place to melee the garg.
P.S.- I don't intend this thread to convert in a discussion. I'd just like a simple answer. In case, this thread turns into a more discussing one, I'd request the Sages to please move it to GGF. |
Lol that was funny.. Looks like they were testing their range :D |
It looks like they were moving away because they couldn't shoot anyway, without hitting their own troops; that's surprising, because they used to shoot indiscriminately. Then when they ran out of shots, they closed in again. |
Maybe they were trying to find a place where their through shot would not hit allied stacks. |
I guess that was , maybe an improved version of AI.May according to me they were trying to gain distance from Gargs so if you finish those stack you take more time to come till him and hero has chance to cast spells, attack,etc. Also they had shots left! |
I do the same thing on my living room when I am drunken. |
at first 3 lorekeepers still have 2 shots, they run away to find a place for clear shot at garg, as other troops are blocking the shooting path. after lores finish the 2 shots, they close in to melee garg. |
the AI has been modified a while ago to avoid self-killing.
Throughshot hits friends and foe alike, so when your gargoyles got surronded by enemy units, lorekeepers couldn't hit.
The reason why they moved away is that AI tries to calculate what's going to happen next: at first, it approached all units until a stale arrived.
Then it calculated a first distance according to an eventual movement of your gargoyles (this also happens with other units, if you get in a corner they will move a little backward to stop your escape), and finally it looked for the best position to shoot at you when some room for the laser shot was finally made.
Happens that, since you were in a corner, the best place would be the opposite corner, as it would allow to hit you no matter where your garg would move. It's like a chess game, really.. in a simpler way ;) |
Looking for a clear shot - That makes sense.
Thank you people for clearing this out and making this thread funny at the same time :) |
