I'm very well aware of the dwindling numbers of active players on our server, but the purpose of a tournament is to determine who is the best at what ever the tourney is about.
I just don't see the point of introducing more elements of random to give players with less skill a chance on winning and thus motivating them to participate.
Imagine olympic sprinters not running 100m but 100 meters + an additional 1 to 10 meters, the later determined by chance in order to give all runners a more "fair" chance to win.
In every sports competition where one try doesn't take all your strength multiple tries are taken and the best counts. (to reduce random) |

well id like to point out this was my suggestion, and im not doing too bad at them, im just saying that i feel there is too many tries, and ive tried sujjesting this as a new DIFFERENT tourneyment, but ur not listening to that, you would still have ur normal ST that you can dominate in, but you can still do this tourney with only 1 try |

First of, I don't do ST, so i'm not crying about it.
then why are you trying to change it. If people don't want to play ST then they don't have to. There are plenty other things to do in this game. It is a tournament, and that means the BEST players should win. No need to change this awesome tourny just to raise the low self-esteem of certain non-intelligent players who can't learn how to better themselves so that they can earn a win instead of having it handed to them. :)

I hope you realize that winning an ST has nothing to do with the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) of a man/woman?
You don't need to be smart to play this game and tactics in this game have absolutely nothing to do with being intelligence in reall life.
It could be that you're 'smart' in this game but just a "retard" in reall life.
If you really think that, keep telling that to yourself every day before you go to sleep and perhaps someday you'd really believe it. |
I know a certain young fellow that is engineer.
He always qualified witht the best points you can imagine..

There are people in this game who never went passed third grade in school but achieved allot of victorys, check the lvl 15s ;)!

One try for each faction would work fine for me if the waves and orbs were public, but I wouldn't participate in tourneys where the amount of luck is too big. However, I think that the current concept, with five tries, are pretty good. Those who want to play with different talent set ups can try that and you can also play with different factions.
By the way, I think that the best way to improve in ST:s is to watch previous ST winners for your level and faction and study their tactics. Improving your play is a great motivation even if you don't reach the first spot. |
