Enchanted Artifacts

AuthorEnchanted Artifacts
I am searching for the formular to calculate the extra damage from enchanted weapons. So i have some questions:

1.) If i use only one weapon with one 10% enchant on it, the extra damage would be +10%. Correct?

2.) If i use only one weapon with four 10% enchants on it, would the extra damage be +40%?

3.) If i use 4 weapons with one 10% enchant on it, the extra damage would be around 34% instead of 40%. What is the formular to calculate this loss of percents?

Thx in andvance.

hf & gl
1) CORRECT
2) CORRECT
3) Man i really dont know but i havent heard that it becomes 34%
1-(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1) = 0,3439 = 34,39%

But normally you would only be able to have 3 weapons

Right hand, Lefthand and Back so 3 weapons with 10% enchant will give 27,1%
3.) If i use 4 weapons with one 10% enchant on it, the extra damage would be around 34% instead of 40%. What is the formular to calculate this loss of percents?
I'm assuming you are using the same type of enchant on all 4 weapons. When you are using the same type, then the math isn't 10%+10%+10%+10%.
The math becomes 10% + 10% x 0.9 + 10% x 0.81 + 10% x 0.729 = 34.39%

This type of formula is used for armor enchants and other same type calculations resulting from abilities of creatures and your talents.
Thx for your answers.

Wiz can have 5 enchanted weapons: 2x Ring, 1x cloak, 1x necklace, 1x Scroll

1-(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1) = 0,3439 = 34,39%

Here is a battle where the player wears 3x 10% and 1x 12% air-enchantment:

https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?lt=-1&warid=37789556

As you can see his airdamage is +35,8%.
If i use your formular his extra damage should be 0,35848.
You are soooo right.

Thx a lot!

You are absolutely right :o)

I also forgot to mention cold blade which is also need to be included in water damage calculations

Thx a lot!
Np :o)

or not. : )

And what about multiple enchants on one might-art?
lets say 10% air, 10% water and 10% earth all on one weapon.
Same formular as above or 30% or another formular??

Thx again

p.s.:

first i could not belive that this

1-(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.1)

and this

10% + 10% x 0.9 + 10% x 0.81 + 10% x 0.729

would be the same result. But it is.

Math is so awesome! ^^

Thx all.

The formula is only for damage of same type (element). So enchants on same arts will always be additive

Example:

Extra Earth damage (ED)
1-(1-ED on art 1)*(1-ED on art 2) = Total extra ED

Extra Fire damage (FD)
1-(1-FD on art 1)*(1-FD on art 2) = Total extra FD
...
...

Total extra damage = WaterDamage + FD + ED + WindDamage
lets say 10% air, 10% water and 10% earth all on one weapon.
Same formular as above or 30% or another formular??

Since they are different, then they are just added, so 30% extra damage.

When I said:
This type of formula is used for armor enchants and other same type calculations resulting from abilities of creatures and your talents.
It only means same exact type no matter the origin (enchants, talents, abilities).
Examples of different type:
Air damage
Water damage
Fire resist
Melee damage
Magic resist

Another way to see it is when in combat you check your hero's detail stats. They would never list out earth damage separately from each of your arts. Everything listed there is a type. And all calculations for a type is done with the awesome formula :p

The formula is a diminishing returns formula where the effectiveness of an additional item is reduced by the combined effectiveness of the previous items.

No, it wouldn't. Cold blade is extra water damage to troops. The enchanted jewelry for wizards is extra water spell damage for heroes. They are separate types. Cold blade is only included in water damage calculations for the 3 weapons that might players use.

I didn't say it should be listed for magic damage... I was referring to my first post where I list weapons (troop damage)
Thx all for your very informative answers.

This topic should be sticky. : )
