I am categorically opposed to consolidate servers. This is a bad idea. The need to develop our server for foreign players or... just close it.
Stating that you think something is a bad idea, doesn't make it a bad idea, especially without any explanation why.
2. The price of the unused arts is the price they are sold at.
The used arts are prorated considering remaining durability, original price and sale price.
The enchantments are taken off and converted back into the elements that were used for enchanting. The elements are then liquidated as well.
3. Estates are "demolished". All the rooms and such that were built since the last purchase are removed, refunding the building cost. Then the estate is purchased by the empire at the cost it was bought at.
I don't think this is the reasonable way to do things. Should that be the case .ru market would be instantly drained of elements (cause .com players would have plenty of gold for purchase despite of their relative low number compared to .ru), thus resulting in their prices skyrocketing (few element offers = high prices). Doesn't seem like an outcome desirable by everyone.
As far as estates are concerned, it seems unfair to strip players of their property just like that. Even with the assumption of a refund, it doesn't help them at all unless new houses are introduced on .ru map. Even if there would be new houses for sale, there'd be a lot of competition from .ru players, so re-purchase of a house wouldn't be guaranteed. And finally we don't even know if our map actually gets removed. It might be simply incorporated somehow into .ru map.
There are way to many unknown factors as far as the merge is concerned, to try to predict ways things are going to happen. But I'm sure that administration will do their best to keep things as fair as possible in the process of merging the worlds. |

The plan is to have a happy peaceful holiday season and then grab our suitcases and move over.
Actually this is a very vague statement. Or perhaps even a figure of speech if you will. It doesn't imply anything, unless you interpret it in your own way and add some context to it by yourself. |

Characters get rewarded for being online. Or for being online at a certain time. The reward can be in gold, by selling products to facilities, or it is in real estate, rare arts, etc, by being able to bid at a certain time/date, or it is in elemenets, artifacts, fsp, hunt points, by being active during certain times/days (for example on x-mass, or New Year's hunts, etc)
Time availability influences the evolution of characters. Stripping off all estates, enchants, elements, etc and rendering them into plain cash would mean "devaluating" some (and only some) characters, which I think is rather unfair. Not everything can be converted into gold, and some "goods" can not be fairly evaluated as a pile of gold.
Imagine someone buys a rare arts set from Empire. He stayed online to buy it, bid on it, and maybe even sold some bunch of his own arts/elements/resources for cheaper, to get the gold fast and buy the rare arts set.
The value of the rare goods could double or triple in a few months. The profit is the benefit the player gets for being online at a certain time/date and having the right amount of cash. It would be unfair for Empire to take that arts set back for the same price, since said player invested his time, bidding, effort, gold, etc.
It seems to me a good idea to "join" .com map with .ru somehow, maybe by considering them on two different continents, and you could travel from one to another by using the docks (East Bay in .com, and Port City in .ru), maybe against a small fee (in gold or element(s)).
I am surprised people are lashing to inequalities between .com and .ru server, but they don't mind the inequalities that the merge would inflict among our own .com community.

Also take the NY potion of oblivion. Recently in the shop for only 10 golds. So most people bought until their inventory was full, because it is much cheaper than the regular 2500 cost. Imagine if it gets sold back for 10 gold.......
Or how about the magic wand 2010 ( https://www.lordswm.com/art_info.php?id=staff2010 ) it would get sold for 0 gold...... I still have mines and don't want to lose it. |

I think what he said "7 january+2-3days for event" is the Christmas event on .ru,not the merge. The merge won't happen at that time because ru will be on Xmas event at that time.
He meant that the merge will be some day "after" that, so still no exact date was given.
Given what Arctic has announced, I personally do not expect the merge to happen anytime before Jan. 20th. |
