hi, i am a necro and i often get thrased by knights mainly because of their seemingly impossible to defeat swordsmen. i have no ranged units so, i cant attack it without getting close, and when i do, my unit gets hammered by the swordsmen. anyone has any advice to help me improve? please state their weaknesses too if u can :) thx |
Swordmen has a large shield ability which will make all ranged damage received to be reduce by 50% , so ranging with ranged units won't kill Swordmen easily...
You can use your Ghosts to attack Swordmen , since Swordmen is a slow type creature , then it is useful if you are equipped with Artifacts that give "Initiative" ...

thx akrisae, but usually the ghosts cant do much damage to them and when they retaliate and do hit my ghosts, the whole stack perishes... seperate your ghosts to 1-1-1-12
take sworswman's retal with 1 stack and hit them with 12.you can use vamp to assist you in killing them
and you need to get skeleton archers ASAP |
seperate your ghosts to 1-1-1-12 but careful about bowman's volley :P |
also be carefull of single bowmen because they are usually used to garentie a hit on ghosts by taking the misses.. if you understand that :) |

hi, im the main character of darklord98961 so i have another question...
since swordmens initiative and speed is low, is it possible that i take out the swordsmen's retal and then strike with my ghost and run away before the swordsmen's next turn? its seems kinda possible but i never really tried... |
but u might not get ur ghost's turn twice before swords turn...then it might be a problem
but yeah if u get 2 turns before swords u can do that |

It may be possible , since Swordmen base initiative is 8 while Ghost is 10 , it is possible. But , because Necromancer has no Morale then it will be a little hard for you to do it. Every 5 turns of Ghost and Swordmen , there is chance that Ghost can move twice. Still , be careful with Swordmen that has more than 2 Morale ... |

I am a necro too and face the same problem. Necros are really pathetic against almost all factions, unfortunately till level 7 it is only going to get worse. Its almost impossible to fight 55 swordsmen with 12 vamps and 26 ghosts, and enemy bowmen are also a problem as darklord aptly stated. The only way is to wait for liches and apparations, you will get become really powerful then as you will not only get a caster but also a plague shooter and apparitions well they are awesome cuz they are apparations. Period :)
P.S: Watch out for elves too as they strike ghosts with lightning, but when you get apps, you will have a fighting chance (drain mana) |
so morale helps in initiative?
morale have nothing to do with initiative.
however, morale do speed up a creature turn by half if is trigger.
so when swordmen trigger morale, they will for sure catch up your ghost. |
