Against caravans it is not showing in combat that they win gold, so perhaps that is no longer an option. However, winning an ambush against a player still grants the successful thief some gold.
And yes, it is only because of the hardware problem that it is so slow. |

I do not understand this. Do you mean against caravans thieves do not get gold or they get gold but not showing in the victory message? I was ambushed in the first minutes when I arrived in this new land, and I found that the thief did not win gold. |

Just asked around and yes they should be receiving gold. There have been errors in hunts that players have received gold, but it has not shown up in the box at the end of the battle.
So the error here is that it is not displaying correctly that thieves get gold from defeating a caravan. |
