They are worth, they are better in hunts against slow creatures and better in ST than FK(you need to keep a combination of FK and Sprites to win tourney at level 5, at least mostly this combination wins)

Their Dispersion is sometimes helpful in PVP

Yes they are very useful in certain battle types and are great for hit & run type hunts.
