It is because when you buy them they are brand new and all shiny.
When you sell them no matter how well you looked after them they are second hand and a little scratched from rubbing against each other in your pocket.
Just like as soon as your drive a brand new car out of the dealership it loses a big chunk of it's value.
Another small factor is that if you sell them for less then you need to donate more real money to the admins to get the same amount of gold back. Assuming you are not just buying at 15k gold and then selling again right away. |

no, there would be no point in that, otherwise,
people won't donate, just buy from the depository and admins still need to make money. |
Diamonds are 1st and foremost for building the DU buildings and getting a thief invite. A really dedicated slow player who enrols 10 times for every battle, buys and sells on the market for profit, etc, can spend in game money for the same bonus the donators get, but it should cost A Lot of money as otherwise why would donors donate?
It's quite generous of the devs to even allow players to buy diamonds with in game money, not real world cash. |
